Speaking about panic the wife was driving in to work today and heaps of pubs are treating today like a last hurrah. Pubs offering $3 pints until close at midday today to run down their stocks and of course get some cash flow in before shutting for up to 6 months.

Pretty sure we can’t all agree on that.
I mean I know it would make it far easier for politicians and big companies to feather their own nests, but not everyone’s actually in favour of that.
And blaming the media for the government not having a consistent message is pretty…pretty weak, at best.

I didn’t say that Government has been perfect in message or actions, but I would argue that here in Victoria and probably across the nation, media has picked sensational headlines from one line of a thirty minute speech, and plastered them in huge letters.
If Wayne Carey screws his captains missus then so be it, but sending this message to some can be deadly. Defend the media all you like, but I will never trust any of them.

Yes investing has risks (I have lost my shirt the last month, but I will bounce back)
But this is going to have some serious impact on our community. Knowing dividends will be cut/cancelled in the next 12-18 months
You can’t eat a share certificate, but you can survive on dividends.

In theory, with a massive drop in superannuation, some may qualify for an aged pension, although I’m sure the government will be across this and provide relief. I note that some deeming rates were adjusted down. I’m sure retirees will be looked after.
