I don’t like masks. I don’t think anyone likes having to wear them.

That being said, should indoor places where you need to spend all day like say a workplace make it compulsory? I mean if it’s optional isn’t it putting health behind the economy?

It’s a bit like needing others to wear a seatbelt to protect the individual?

If I catch covid, because some goon came to work sick unmasked, I’ll be mighty ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  off. Me wearing a mask helps them if I’m sick why not the other way around?

I’ll be enjoying some things I couldn’t do in lockdown, but measured risk(eg eating outdoors). But that’s 2 hours of dining.

Not 8 plus hours of working and being inside.

seems like the sort of thing that will be successful in nsw but a complete ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  in vic.

10 people in the home setting is a worry for me. ā€˜70%’ leaves 44% still unvaccinated. Would expect cases to ramp up in about 2 weeks and hoping that won’t translate to our hospitals being smashed. We shall see what happens.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has announced a set of ā€œmajor changesā€ to the NSW roadmap out of COVID-19 lockdown, including doubling the cap on household visitors from Monday.

The changes to the roadmap was made before the health minister revealed the state 587 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

From Monday, October 11, fully vaccinated people will be given more freedoms, including:

10 adults will be allowed to gather in homes (was previously five)

30 adults will be allowed to gather in public outdoor spaces (was previously 20)

Indoor pools will be reopened

Increase the cap for weddings and funerals to 100 people (previously 50)

Some highlights for the Monday after NSW his 80 per cent double dose coverage include:

Face masks not required in office buildings

20 adults will be allowed to gather in homes

50 people will be allowed to gather outdoors

3,000 people will be able to attend ticketed outdoors events

Students in NSW’s lockdown areas will now return to on-site learning at school from October 25th, with the government saying a range of COVID safety measures would be in place.

Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 12 students will still return to face-to-face learning from October 18th.

ā€œIt’s a major relief for parents and their sanity and I think this is an important decision today and I want to thank all the teachers who are are there getting vaccinated to ensure that we can open our schools as safely as possible,ā€ Mr Perrottet said.

Mr Perrottet said the loosened restrictions his government will be introducing from the beginning of next week were ā€œsensible and measuredā€.

He said the departure his predecessor Gladys Berejiklian’s roadmap wasn’t an indication he was unhappy with them.

ā€œNo, I worked very closely on the preparation of [that] roadmap with Minister [Stuart] Ayres and the former Deputy Premier John Barilaro,ā€ Mr Perrottet said.

ā€œAny government has different views … and I think based on where we are today in terms of where the case numbers are, the fact the vaccination rate was at 70 per cent — it gave me an opportunity to reflect on it.ā€

Deputy Premier Paul Toole said workers in regional areas who have received one vaccination dose will be permitted to return to their workplace from October 11 and will be given a grace period until November 1 to receive their second dose.

What do they classify as low? My LGA is showing 65% first dose. I’d say that’s low.

yes, and also on leave from Twitter.

So new Premier, making some announcements about winding back restrictions early.

And by coincidence, this is the only press conference in the entire pandemic in which there wasn’t someone from NSW Health also present.

Hmmmm.

They have a 2nd briefing from NSW Health at 11am I think.

Yep, that is low. Check what date that is though and how current.
We still have some LGA’s that are lower

26th September. I’ve saved the page as a favourite so I can keep checking.

Nice of NSW to act as guinea pigs for the rest of us
