also one thing iāve found very interesting in the whole smith v maxwell ā ā ā ā . for someone who bats like smith, iād have thought the way he bats heād be the last one having a crack at anyone elses batting techniques.
imagine if clarke and the selectors had of told him to ā ā ā ā off and learn how to bat with a better technique or stance, or āproperlyā.
Maxwell wonāt get into any aus team for awhile though, once youāre blacklisted, esp victorians, you stay in the wilderness for a long time.

That catch by Archer was just ridiculous!
The c&b by Archer on Cutting was one where the batsman just says āget fked! Get absolutely fked!ā.
Batsman quilts the ball straight back and Archer just throws up his right hand and catches it, clean as a whistle. Absolutely smoked it.
Got to be Short to replace Lynn at the moment.

Out obstructing the field! There you go. He did change his line but is s harsh decision.
Hurricanes have been sloppy the last two overs. Someone needs to tell them itās not over.
interesting cos it sets up a dangerous precedent now, that anytime someone deviates off their original path, one could argue they are obstructing the field.
IMO thereās been worse examples of it having happened worse than that one, across all forms of the game.

Does T20 form automatically translate into One Day Cricket - Iād be holding my horses with regards to Short - Blood him in T20 cricket first.
How about just tell him to bat like itās a T20. If he gets out at around the 19 over Mark like he keeps doing that translates well enough

It was a howler and a garbage rule. If the ball doesnāt hit you, how is it obstruction? He was clearly not trying to block the wickets. No common sense

It looked like the change of angle opened up the stumps more than anything. If he ran in a straight line he would have blocked the stumps more efficiently.
If he was to be an opener in the one dayers, youād think that would be a viable option, tell him to assume itās a 20 20 game, bat like it, if he gets out so be it, it might be worth the gamble.
donāt think itād translate down the order though.
donāt think itāll happen this summer, as finch and warner are the obvious picks, but if one needs a break or gets injured, iād definately hope they get him in as opener and give it a crack.
