Cricket Part III

Jofra Archer is going to be one hell of a handful of he is qualified for England in time for the 2019 Ashes. Absolute jet.

Apparently he’s available in a couple of weeks. England changed their rules to match ICC rules or something

The Big Bash game tonight may have a lower-than-expected attendance: trains have been shut down due to concerns the three-year old thirty-storey Opal Tower at Homebush has structural problems!

Bravo, on lots of cash, just went for 20 runs from his first over. Shocking bowling.

Has been a massive bust so far. Add in one of the most overrated cricketers in stoinis and when they are two of are main bowlers we are in all sorts of trouble

Stars are not a well constructed team. Scraping the bottom of the barrel if Travis Dean is opening. Good Shield bat but T20 is not his go. The Nepalese leggie is very good. Their pace battery lacks a bit.

Yes he does, very good. They claimed they had fixed their bowling stocks, no, no they aven’t.

And Bravo has cost them this match, crap with the bat, appalling with the ball. Economy rate of 12+ an over.

Larkin has dropped 3 catches in 2 games, all of them easy drops too. He needs to spend a very long time practicing catching the ball. Maybe someone can suggest he uses his hands to catch the thing, they are not just there to hold a bat.

Why Maxwell isn’t opening or batting at 3 for the stars is beyond me, your best bat has to be given as much time in the middle as possible.

Also, Dan Sams may find himself in Aussie colours pretty soon, left arm Andrew Tye type bowling and his is proving a more than handy late order batsman.

Stuck down on the Mornington Peninsula for Xmas with no Poxtel. By Christ the 7 coverage is average. Commentators are appalling.

Battle between the Stars and Sixers for the spoon methinks. Both look very average only a couple of games into the tournament…

It still amazes me that in cricket they judge the distance of the six incorrectly. If it hits the roof, they need to show the full trajectory of the ball, as it will travel another 20 metres as it fall and lands. A 110m six might be a 130m six if it’s not falling straight down when it hits the roof. If it is falling rapidly, then it’s still going to travel a few more metres. Why on earth they can’t create a graphic and get it right is beyond me. It would be the single most interesting thing about big bash cricket!

To be fair, Bravo was a massive bust for the Renegades the last couple of years. Not sure what the Stars thought they were getting.

That Sams looks good. Left armer, took 3 for, and scored 25 odd from 10.

AUSTRALIA XI: Aaron Finch, Marcus Harris, Usman Khawaja, Shaun Marsh, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Tim Paine (capt), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.

INDIA XI: Virat Kohli Ā©, Ajinkya Rahane (VC), Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant (WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah

Interesting changes by the Indians.

Fark me. Geoff Marsh will be getting another run soon!

Australia must be expecting a pretty flat pitch if they are picking an all rounder , no other valid reason for it.

When is the last time any team dropped both openers at the same time?

Warner and Bancroft in Sth Africa? Obviously different circumstances rather than purely form based decisions…

But he only bowls about 3 overs an innings. He is clearly only in as a batsman and he is a ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  spud. He is to batsmen (and cricketers) what NLM is to ruckman.
