Derek Kickett -- re-heating the hot take

It was a close call. Sad for Kickett but I remember at the time that Derek did not play well in the final series.

Who was the other ‘in’ for the 93 Grand final?

It was Kickett and Flood out, Wallis and ? In.

Sorry for any pain this may have caused.

He had a good game on a bad day in 90.

Whilst its a shame he didn’t get a shot at redemption Sheeds did the right thing.

From memory he didn’t have a great day dor for the bin chickens in 96

I remember Sheedy justifying it after the fact saying it was really between dropping Watson or Kickett. Said for team balance he wanted to bring Wallis in, if I recall correctly.

No one could argue with harvs, and wallis did give us this

I think i read somewhere kickett one said he should have been in ahead of tim Watson. Yes, retrospective on the game Watson did nothing, but no chance tim Watson was being dropped

My preference gif for situations like that is sarcastic Conan:

Yes, especially considering Watson kicked that important goal in the prelim. against Adelaide

I stand by my choice.
