Dumb Questions Amnesty

Almost as silly as an IRA-bombing-McKenna connection and political correctness. Absurd.

Who’s your fabourite ‘celebrity’ chef?

Don’t have a fabourite, … but my favourite would be, …does Bourdain qualify??

Don’t mind Hugh Hyphen hyphen Don’t sleep in the subway Darling Biscuit Barrel on the Pom River Cottage either.

Jamie Oliver, not so much for his cooking but for inspiring my son.

He used to watch his show when he was about ten years old, has been cooking ever since.

Nigella … her food and herself are simply luscious.

She (+/- her handlers) deliberately emphasize the second over the first.

It’s her gimmick, but I find the soft-porn) pouts to camera and come-hither looks she does are a too obvious trope to keep the hoi polloi watching.

Perhaps… but her food is deliscious… and it works every time. Can’t say that about too many others.

That’s great. I’d say Jamie too, for me, the dishes are actually pretty basic, and certainly doable in a home kitchen. He comes across as an ok bloke too, but I’m sure others will disagree.

GORDON Ramsay for his OTT attitude and just ripping people apart.

Aarin Franklin for his bbq skills, but he’s not really that big here in Oz.

Yeah, Bourdain is really good. Really takes you to where the locals eat, and drink. Though I’m sure he did one in melbourne and Matt Preston took him to a pretty average kebab stand in Brunswick.

There’s also that big flamboyant American guy that eats weird food.

It’s dumb questions thread, not dumb answers…

FWIW, I think the best TV cook was Ian Parmenter* back in the 1990’s-2000s. He would present very good recipes in a simple and entertaining style, without any gimmicks (except for the occasional “Bliss fall” at the end). And all in 5 minutes. FWIW his show “Consuming Passions” also won a couple of “World’s best TV Cooking Show” Awards as well.

*Liitle Miss AT back in the day called him “The Man Who Cooks his Tea on TV”.

Lol. Has anyone seen the Peter Russell Clarke out takes video on YouTube?

He needs to make a comeback and just go full @&$# and #%$@. Would be an immediate success.

Where’s the cheese?

Yeah for TV ‘cooks’ her food is usually pretty damn good and not too technical. Personally don’t mind the extra curves or suggestive looks either. Better than looking at Gordon Ramseys ‘fell through a glass window’ head… unless that’s your thing.

I’ve worked with him.
He’s a carnt.
