I wonder if those that are a little more travel savvy than I can help with this one.

Need to book a place for me and Mum. We’ll need to separate rooms and two separate bathrooms.

I’d rather not book two hotel rooms and apartments seem expensive. AirBnbs?

It’s a long shot but any tricks or the trade or insights beyond what’s obvious would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks blitz!

Get an apartment.
I don’t like air BnB as both the host and the guest get reviewed so the reviews will be biased because no one will complain/leave bad review because they will get one themselves.
We did it in London and never again.

Get an apartment, might be more expesive but they are better and more flexible

Some hotels have apartment style 2BR/2BR accommodations. Where are you going to?

Mornington area

Looked at Quest apartments and they’re around 400-500 a night. Bit much for me

Airbnbs can work out more economically when you stay more nights because their “cleaning” fee applies if you stay one night or 5. I’d stay in a place like this:

Yep, that’s the exact one I found yesterday. Definitely an options.

Obviously I’m not gonna leave the place a pig sty but what’s the cleaning fee you mebtion (never stayed in an air bnb)?

The price is made up of two parts, accommodation and service/cleaning. e.g.$200 for accomm per night and $100 for service say for washing sheets and emptying the rubbish. So 1 night would be $300 but 5 nights would be $1,000 for accomm plus $100 service so would work out at $220 per night

How do they have the cheek to charge for washing the sheets?

You have to do that regardless no matter who sleeps or showers there, as non-resident.

It should be included in the accommodation costs. Charge $300 per night, and only charge extra for the over-and-aboves.

It’s the airbnb model. If ya don’t like it go somewhere else.

We rented the top level of a house with lovely views in Geelong in 2016 and went to watch Footscray win the GF at a local pub. We realised what a good area it was and now we live there.

I agree their charging model is weird but it certainly works.

If everything is God’s plan, what does prayer change?

Plans can change

aribnb sucks ass. as hambo says not only do you pay a separate cleaning fee, but you have to do half of it for them.

look at either stayz, booking dot com, or search “____ beach house rental” to find private operators in the area

I saw Gervais do a bit on that, asking why pray at all? Surely he knows?

Not something I really want to weigh into, but it did make me go…huh.
