Why are Chelsea in for Andy Carroll? Makes no sense, canā€™t see the Hammers being happy to let him go

I can.

Heā€™s never fit, heā€™s be perfect though coming off the bench for chelsea in games like last week v leicester where you can just hoof it to him in the last 20 mins.

Iā€™d take batshuayi in return and give him a proper crack.

Aubameyang has agreed to terms with Arsenal apparently.

If true then thatā€™s a massive signing.

Apparently he is pushing in a request to move to Arsenal too!

If we get him then he will eventually have his head turned and will force a move to one of the Spanish giants or PSGā€¦

Heā€™s a plan B option when teams sit back and defend with ten men. Hoof it up and heā€™s got a decent chance of getting his head to the ball. It was also why they went for Llorente pre-season (as an aside, how many minutes has he played for Spurs?).

Mind you, theyā€™d probably have been better off just not freezing out Diego Costa.

If we do get him it will be interesting how we fit him into the side.

Would be great to have dual strikers but Iā€™m guessing Lacazette will have to go out wide.

Aubameyangā€™s scoring record the past 12-18 months is world-class. At his age the time is right to make the move. However if I was a player of his stature Arsenal would be the last club Iā€™d join. Firstly who is the manager going to be even in the short term? If itā€™s Wenger why would you sign for him? The guy is clearly past it. Secondly their 2 best players have let their contracts run down and if they donā€™t move this month their definitely gone in the summer. They wonā€™t make Champions League. Arsenal are a shambles. Until they sort this mess out I wouldnā€™t go anywhere near them.

Someone not on the move is Ronaldinho, who has officially retired. Last played a game in 2015, so perhaps this isnā€™t actually news.

Reading a bit more on the Sanchez situation, apparently Arsenal are at risk of breaking a newly implemented rule by the Premier League, which is the reason for this deal stalling. Apparently you are not allowed to increase your wage bill by more than GBP7 Million from one season to the next. As Arsenal only want to sell Sanchez once they have a replacement sourced, they need to clear some more wages before they can make this happen. With Lacazette and Kolasinac coming in as big-wage signings, losing Sanchez (who is apparently on only (LOL) 130K a week) but signing Aubameyang or Mkhitarayan would cost more in wages than what Sanchez currently earns. They are trying to sell Walcott (apparebntly a fee has been agreed with Everton) or Giroud to shed some more salary.

Thatā€™s such a ā– ā– ā– ā–  rule lol.

According to Goal.com, Arsenal are at risk of being affected by the Premier League Short Term Cost Control rules, brought in at the start of the season. The rule prevents clubs from increasing their wage bill by more than Ā£7m per season.

This is where things get tricky for Arsenal ā€“ who committed big off-season wages to new record signing Alexandre Lacazette and free transfer Sead Kolasinac while failing to get rid of deadwood in their squad.

The Mirror reports Mkhitaryan wants a payrise on his Ā£150,000 a week deal at United, plus Raiola wants a Ā£5m agents commission to complete the deal PLUS a payout from United in the process. The Daily Mail reports Mkhitaryan is on an even more eye-watering Ā£180,000 a week.

That means the Armenian would earn significantly more than the Ā£130,000 Sanchez is earning in the final months of his Arsenal contract.

Add in Arsenalā€™s reported interest in Borussia Dortmundā€™s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bordeauxā€™s Malcom and the club would be forced to sell move players to keep their books balanced.

Already, Francis Coquelin has departed, while Theo Walcott is set for an Everton medical, taking a combined Ā£160,000 a week off the wage bill.

Thatā€™s the first Iā€™ve even heard about that. Does it apply to promoted teams? Potentially screws over well managed (comparatively low wage budget) teams unnecessarily.

Worried about Ipswich not being able to pick up all the Man U outcasts with their extortionate, yet undeserved, salaries when theyā€™re surely promoted?

Youā€™d think thereā€™d be discretion for newly promoted teams. Walcott apparently in Liverpool for his Medical with Everton.

It would be a major concern, if Ipswich ever look like a credible promotion candidate ever again

Who could forget the heady days of George Burley and Europe straight from promotion. Before he decided to manage from the pub.

Indeed. It was the underdog story that got me to jump on board.

Immediately selling Richard Wright to Arsenal was the beginning of the end.
