We probably should’ve gotten over United yesterday, but our inability to score goals ever since Jiminez went down with a fractured skull a couple of years ago is still a problem. If we can play with the same intent against middle of the road and lower sides we will win games but unfortunately, it is rarely the case and sides we should score points against end up looking like world beaters. Still, we are in the Prem and can play some entertaining football, hopefully we might score a goal soon.
Chelsea spend another measly 60 million quid, Lavia now inbound to Stamford Bridge.
They’re supposedly interested in Sangarê , though it’s not quite the big name signing that some rivals have spent vast sums on. Allegedly a 37 million euro release clause.
I was hoping Forest might have been in the market for him, but very unlikely if Liverpool and Bayern are in play, as is rumoured.
No Europe and some spots on the pitch will have dudes sitting on the pine most of the season. Madness.
Does Serie A use the same umpire pool or get new (independent) people in to review footage?
Don’t think it’s changed this season but one of the main problems with the English VAR is that the bloke watching the video is a ref who next week will be reffing a game himself. Fans theory is that they don’t like to upset each other. Should be independent experts watching the telly and nothing to do with the referees association.
And the ref watching the telly actually puts his full kit while in the studio
It’s also a very subjective opinion on fouls etc too. Ask 100 refs and any decision would be split and very few would be unanimous.
I would actually change the handball rule and get rid of any grey areas. If it hits you on the arm in the box, bad luck it’s a pen. None of this arm to ball or ball to arm BS
That Jackson one vs Liverpool should be deemed a penalty. Did you get an advantage? Yes? Penalty. Bad luck that you didn’t mean it, don’t accidentally block a goal bound ball.
It’s not just that, by doing it this way you limit the pool of people. A ref needs knowledge of the game, ability to read what happened, good vision.
On field you also need 20/20 eyesight, good positioning, ability to run 10+ km (?), ignore the crowd and pressure, and it’s nice if you can communicate with players.
The people with both sets of skills are bloody small. But you remove the second set of requirements and you have more to choose from, possibly better with the first skills. Who cares if the VAR ref is a fat bad mouthed women or guy if their great at viewing video and making correct calls?
Using onfield refs for Var is ridiculous.
Talk in the uk papers that greenwood will be named as part of manu’s squad for the upcoming season. Please don’t!
I’ve read the ManU statement. To me all they did it to test the waters. Based on the feedback, I don’t think Greenwood is playing football again if the public view is considered.
I’m stunned the Saudi league hasn’t tried to pick him up yet.
Similar morals?
Slab’s turned the Hammers down. Going to fight for his place at manure even though he might be 3rd or even 4th pick. Nowhere near the same talent but will earn loads for doing nothing just like Gareth Bale.
Olise not going to Chelsea, you love to see it
So they’re now - allegedly - turning their attention to Brennan Johnson.
Is there anyone they don’t want ? Getting beyond a joke now
Thank goodness. I don’t think he’s as bad as people make him out to be, but we’ve got good options in the squad as is. We’re better off spending money elsewhere.
I still can’t believe Zaha left for Turkey. Surely a team like Spurs or Villa could have lured him?
Wants to play Champions League
