EvanšŸ Returns

Yes, let's just move on. Just like the AFL want us to. Just like they always knew we would.

alternatively we can carry this chip on our shoulder until…?

Well said Unknown. Insightful as always.

Ah - smell that clear air - cough

lol at revisionsist. Sure some here have only recently come to realise the mistakes Evans made but FFS some were also very clear that self reporting & the Ziggy were monumental mistakes from the start.

So would it satisfy you if Evans threw himself on the ground at the feet of James Hird, admitted his sins and begged forgiveness.

Or are you just going to hate him forever?

Evans owes the people an explanation or apology. Till then, we don’t have to move on from anger.

Oh I dunno, maybe until the people who orchestrated the whole mess admit their mistakes and apologize to the essendon members and supporters?

Given James was shamed into making four or five apologies, maybe just one from him would be nice.
Not that it’s his apology I’m interested in, it’s his explanation.

Anyone who thinks more dirt could hurt this club is, to quote Essendon's bestest friend in the media, farking delusional. Essendon is the most despised, divided, ā– ā– ā– ā–  club in the league. It has NO reputation left to protect.

And you seem to want to make it worse.

Exactly how does spilling more dirt help a club that has already had its reputation trashed? It’s dirt that trashes a reputation, isn’t it?

Yes, our reputation has been trashed. The trashing will be revived when WADA comes on in November, no matter what the result. But that will be the end of it.

There’s only one way to rebuild a reputation, and that’s by actions that prove that the past is behind you.

A deluge of vitriol aimed at proving your reputation should never have been trashed in the first place a) won’t work, and b) will actually make your reputation even worse.

You think we have a problem with Evans just because of how he treated Hird?

Evans owes the people an explanation or apology. Till then, we don't have to move on from anger.

Thats how I see it.
An explanation of some sorts as to why he tipped us in it and ran for the hills silently MAY change my thoughts of him.

This is all that is left to be said. Move on

I don’t want anything.

Full disclosure, or spilling more dirt as you call it, maybe gets some respect back so everyone can move on.
But I don’t expect that.

Your post is a mess, btw.

Nothing as dramatic as that. Just tell the truth about what happened, his decision process, and who the people were who influenced his decisions. The fallout from that admission will be for others to decide. By any standards his actions have been gutless. Grow a set David.

Unless Evans is prepared to expose the corruption & his dodgy dealings with the AFL then yes I will continue to hate him forever. Why would I or anyone else consider forgiving someone who shows no sign at all that they even acknowledge let alone regret their actions?

That will be the end of it - my my how easy it is for some to be completely blinded. We’ve been hearing ā€œthat will be the end of itā€ for 3 years & here’s the thing - we will NEVER hear the end of it. This club will be forever tarnished. In 5 years time when Jobe writes a book we will hear about it again. In 10 years time when the last of the 34 retires we will hear about it again. In 15 years time when a former player is suffering depression we will hear about it, in 20 years time when a former player develops cancer (statistically its quite likely) then again we will hear about it. If James Hirds’ kids ever come close to being AFL players we will hear about it, when the club has a players reunion involving anyone involved we will hear about it.

I have said this from day 1 & it still is my 100% belief - the club will not effectively move on until the truth is exposed, no matter how ugly that truth is. Imagine the truth was that Evans, Hird, Bomba & all the players were guilty of deliberate doping - what in the blazes of hell could have happened that would be worse than what we have now? All the key people would still be gone from the club, the players would still be going into this pre-season after ruined seasons & our reputation would still be mud but at LEAST we would have already had a conclusion & outcome, the guilty parties removed & a club united in moving forward. As it is now we have a fractured club, no resolution & no truth. This stain will not wash away. Sure the AFL is banking on most people having short attention spans but with the free ride we’ve given the media they will not let this story die. Only the truth will set us free!

Reckon it would have made the back pages if he did. If not the front.

In the absence of likes, a quote will have to suffice. Well said, Evans presided over, or worse, was the key reason, that this cclub went through the blackest time in it’s history, & it will never go away.

For the next thousand years or however long this farce of a competition continues, there will always be an asterisk beside Essendons 2013 record.

I agree with Wim, club destroyed by him. We are such a ā– ā– ā– ā–  club it’s not funny. Fark our admin.
