Ex-#13 Orazio Fantasia - well… bye

Believe half of what you see, & nothing of what you hear.

I thought he didn’t have a manager until halfway through trade period and then he signed with a SA guy.

He sacked Anthony McConville just before the trade period last year, allegedly over discussions with Port Adelaide without Fanta knowing. He definitely wants to move back to Adelaide, but wants to do it on his terms, which are high. EFC have encouraged him to get medicals done and want him to do the highest deal he can.

Well said Mr Fox.
He definitely wants to go home but he also knows that if a deal can’t be done that suits us and the club is happy for him to stay he will.
I think something will get done but it’s not going to be easy, Port want to fleece us and the Crows just don’t seem to be showing much interest at all

I have never spoken with Orazio, but have friends who say he is a polite and decent young man, and that his Family are very highly respected in their community. I never understand the hate he gets here; it is like it is his fault his body has let him down.

I would absolutely be comfortable hanging onto him and assist him get his body right. I still believe he can come good and it’s probably in both parties interests that he does. It doesn’t seem to me as though he’s desperate to get out like Saad and Daniher. I’m happy to hear that he wants the best possible deal for himself and the club.

To be honest Bacchus…I don’t think he gets too much hate here. Orazio is a fantastic player that has been cut down by injury that has not been managed very well by either the club, and by allowing the club to play him last year…probably himself. I hope he gets better and if he can’t get the bucks he needs in Adelaide I would certainly be happy if he stays at Bomberland.

When fit and well Fantasia can turn a game on its head in minutes…he just needs to stay fit & well and I’m sure he will get back to his best.

You must miss some of the posts on this site then, he cops it from a small number of wankers. I am not sure you can also blame the Club too much as well, as some blokes just have issues with torn muscles and no matter what is tried does not work. Courtney Dempsey and Jason Winderlich both should have played many more games. At least all have got over 100, so we can nab their kids !!!

Call it indecisive.

Great… go to the club that have an academy gun coming in and dont want to part with any picks.

Maybe we can get a future draft pick and send it on to GWS for Caldwell?

Who is worth more Caldwell or Fantasia?

didn’t he just re-sign for 2 years in September?

edit: sorry didn’t read it was pointed out later

Port have academy and F/S picks next year and they have stated numerous times they aren’t keen to lose any future picks. We are going to get reamed by Port unless we can snare a player that can play a role.

If that’s the case, why would we trade Fantasia with a year left on his contract?

Took the kids to the Hanger at the beginning of 2018 when he was injured. He spent a long time chatting with them and having a few kicks with my son on the “injured” players oval.
He signed autographs and was happy to have photos. Had a good laugh and chat when my son said we are Italian.
Wish him all the best
