Yeah …… was shocked he hit Stringer with that pass. Good for him.
I think the kick to stringer was a miss kick, bit too much inside of the foot. Stringer had to adjust the angle of his lead significantly to get it but it drew him into space. Maybe I’m being harsh
No not harsh. Spot on. The behind the goals view showed it clearly.
Showed plenty of intent last night, but part of his role is to slot goals like the one he missed.
Once Snelling is good to go, he makes way.
What about now?
Has to go. I watched a kid in Wanganeen playing his first game last night at the same size as Ham (could be wrong but looks similar) and his intent to tackle is far greater already. I don’t mind so much if they don’t stick as long as they try but half the time Ham just doesn’t try to tackle coz he’s scared of contact. Can’t believe people are suggesting he played good last night with his 11 possessions and missing a simple shot. For the $300,000 (???) he gets paid I expect an actual AFL footballer. If my staff at work or I put in these kind of performances we wouldn’t have a job but he accept this mediocrity constantly. Will never be successful as a club while he’s part of our 22 and yes there are other players at the club I would say the exact same thing about.

Showed signs of using the footy better and in more considered fashion. The pass into Stringer a perfect example of what he needs to do
The pass to stringer was not intended for him or at best he made stringer change lanes… watch the behind the goal footage of it
Easily the best game I have seem Ham play for intent and desire to be involved in the contest. but he has a long, long way still to go to become a bona fide AFL player.
He is far too small, too skinny. He’s not quick enough for his size. He’s not hard enough for his size, doesn’t overly like physical contact. He can’t find much of the ball and barely impacts games. He doesn’t win clearances and doesn’t tackle enough on average (last night was OK). He fumbles too much and above all his skills are barely average. I don’t know what he brings, I don’t know how he help us going forwards and I can never imagine him having an impact in finals football. He’s 23 soon so he can’t use the teen excuse. Good on him for trying last night, but it’s not enough. He is Jackson Merrett, and that’s if he continues to improve.

What about now?
My post was 3 years ago. You truly are my biggest fan.
Within the context of a small midfield - prosciutt’ is too small.
If we had a bigger midfield he might be more serviceable.

That miss in the last quarter was a soda.
He plays scared.
Scarred for life.
Never again.
Game in the balance, just after Perkins had goaled, momentum starting to swing back our way again, streaming into an open goal, and of course he missed. He was always going to miss. That was when l knew it was game over. Please, please, please, no more. He isn’t good enough, and never will be. Tex showed more determination and willingness to get involved in his first game, than Ham ever has. Bring in Waterman.

Bring in Waterman.
Y he is not played. Is he injured? or it is just faourites being in play here?
Its like his come into the team three years ago at 70kgs and now his like 71kgs…and not showing signs of improvement. Time to plays others ahead of him
I don’t believe he is injured. Must come into serious consideration for a spot on the forward line.
that’s just no true as he’s put on some decent size for a small frame, sure pot him for seeming lack of overall improvement but cmon man why are we just making ■■■■ up
I’m trying to figure out how that guy got in that position, and I want to know how he planned on actually moving under that bar
I remember a while ago people were upset that Zaka didn’t seem to be performing yet still kept getting selected. It later came to light that he was under instruction to do lots of running on the open side of the ground to dissuade the opposition from switching across the ground when coming out of defense, instead forcing them to kick long down the line. If the oppo defenders didn’t switch, the ball wasn’t near him, which resulted in him having a fairly low-possession game, low tackle count, and a lot of unrewarded running, but he was doing his job. I wonder if something similar is going on with Ham.

Played 15 games last year, mainly as a small forward and kicked 5 goals, 3 in one game. Just misses far too many easy goals and they cripple you. I think we all knew he was going to miss that soda the other night, and Melbourne kick two on the rebound.
jackson merrett was a far better footballer imo
