Favourite Debut Albums

I forgot a couple looking at that list as well.

Foo Fighters and Bat out of Hell should have made my list.

Yep Straight out of Compton and Welcome to the Jungle where my two immediate thoughts.

Both throwing down the gauntlet with full frontal assaults. Massive statements.

I was listing them anyway. They fall under both categories.

It was more about PJ ten, and STP Core.

Great first albums, but not my favourite album from either band.

I’ve got Kill Em All in my list.

I certainly would have Dire Straits, Cars and Tea Party in my list.

It’s favorite debut albums - you’re completely right. Most significant bands from 60’s - 90’s we’re able to develop and improve and experiment as the Beatles did. And even though I wasn’t alive, Please, Please Me is a favorite debut for so many reasons. Now, as Regurgitator so we’ll expressed, it’s not about that. So many bands in the 90’s had tried so had to get a deal and gigged so hard, it was ■■■■■■ hard to follow up. It’s about time, culture, business. Which is why so many great debuts emerged in this period.

The other thing is that many Blitzers are of a very specific demographic.

I’m going to wait till I’m happy with all my top ten to post.

You’re still waiting for a few more bands/artists to release debut albums?

Great list.

Humble Brag: opened for Tea Party in this period. Still wouldn’t have them first from that list. ■■■■■■■ great album though.

I thought it was a top 10, but it’s not so I can add (and or subtract) I imagine. First draft, no specific order, but variable logic:

Entombed - Left Hand Path

Shellac - At Action Park

Shihad - Churn

Primus - Suck on This

Beatles - Please, Please Me

Metallica- Kill Em All

Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill

Led Zeppelin I

Helmet - Strap it On

Quicksand - Slip
