Former #30 Patrick Ryder - we dodged the bullet

There’s lots of valid things to slag off Ryder for, but I don’t think this is one of them.

Every traded player in the history of football talks up the club they decided to go to over the ones they decided not to go to.

He did go to the trouble of saying that there was more excitement and energy at stkilda.

That would suggest he didn’t see that at Essendon.

It was clearly a swipe at us.

To be honest when I first read the comment I was furious given the financial discrepancy between the two offers but there were some things he said afterwards which kind of softened it. Nevertheless the comment is not complementary and he has essentially ■■■■ on the club at best inadvertently.

To be honest there are many things at the club that I’m concerned about but not sure ryder is best placed to assess it. Given the manner he left, I wonder why he ever contemplated returning.

Or he was ■■■■■■ off that we wouldn’t pay more when we as a club were his preference

Can spin it anyway you want

All the players re-signing are jumping out of their skins believing club is on verge of something special.

He didn’t mention money so I’m just taking what he said at face value.

When has any player said, “I chose this club as they offered more?”

I just don’t want to be accused of making ■■■■ up.

And unlike you I think there are problems at our club.

I’m not sure how much more actual evidence we need.

Breaking, … or inventing though, …

No club is perfect

But what are you actually mainly basing this on? The Daniher scenario?

Lol time will tell

“Reported” is again, … a very tenuous term when it comes to this flog, … or any of them really.

Reporting in the Footy world is not “Reporting” as if from a Tornado disaster zone, … in fact, they really should be banned from using the word.

I think “Tom Browne is saying,… Has been saying …”, would be more accurate, . and I wouldn’t give tuppence for anything any of them “Say”, …

The fact that we are moving on another coach that hasn’t delivered us any success and have moved on numerous other coaches in the past 2 years.

We have just sacked our physical performance boss as well as our fitness guru and haven’t yet announced replacements.

We have 2 of our best players under injury clouds and there are murmurings that they are not happy with their treatment.

We yet again didn’t win a final.

We yet again failed to beat any sides of note and haven’t been able to consistently do it for many years.

We have an ageing backline and only inexperienced players in reserve.

Our rucks are a huge concern.

I could go on but I can’t be bothered.

Exactly right, and he was out in the spot in front of the media. He has never looked comfortable in front of camera

Darli the tweet still didn’t state we were offering more money

Well saying an “attractive offer” wouldn’t be suggesting less money now would it.

Could also be length of contract, performance incentives, and certainty of a best 22 spot (which brings more money from match payments). Contract comparisons are rarely as simple as club A $ > club B $

If that’s the case then our club is in more trouble than I thought.

Must have seen our game against them

Its like a war zone in here!

Can’t we all just agree and be happy that Ryder will not be playing for us next season!

Let’s all just get along…now if you’ll excuse me I need to finish some arguments in the Daniher thread

Based on what he said, and just how he is not the brightest individual is anyone certain he actually went to Moorabbin, or thought “St Kilda” and went to Luna Park?
