Apparently the guy went to a pharmacy this morning and was showing the girls there the photos he took… fantastic bloke. IF he was in shock when he took the photos surely any other guy would not have done that, they would have deleted them.
He saw the opportunity to take them so he could brag later. He’s a ■■■■.
Is that right? That’s farking horrible if true.
As I said in my original post, I can understand taking them or maybe even running, because maybe he was in shock (maybe - being very generous). I cannot for the life of me understand the uploading of them or as you say, showing them to other people in a boasting way. That’s extraordinary
Was the truck driver rubber necking then suddenly realised the traffic was slowing up ahead, slammed on the brakes and jackknifed…then the rest is history? GUESSING.
Ill put you out on a highway and have a semi plough through two parked cars next to you and 4 people get crushed and see how your feeling.
From what I can tell the guy is a ■■■■■■■■ for
Speeding
Drug driving
And for fleeing the scene with video instead of providing first aid… Given the first two and depending on his amount of shock, providing first aid might not have been much of an option for him.
The truck driver will get done for something like involuntary manslaughter and/or dangerous driving.
Queensland abandoned plans to introduce similar laws after discussion. “Move over, slow down” is the advice.
“Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the state preferred to educate rather than regulate and there were concerns about heavy vehicles being able to safely slow down in 100km/h zones.” AAP
Yep, might create a bit of confusion for interstate drivers too.
I listened to the Police Commissioner say this morning that police had gone to the truck driver’s home with a search warrant and as a result of that search there was now an ongoing investigation. More to come out, eh???
drugs, surely
The semi will be combed over for defects, tyre tread etc and forensic experts will be doing calculations on impact, road marks etc to determine issues such as speed, braking, steering movements.
Others can only speculate.
Yes, and this Pusey guy has a history of drug use (and tested positive at the crime scene)???
I imagine he would have been blood and urine tested in hospital as a routine procedure.
Yes, the driver would have been tested for sure.
Maybe someone can tell me that if an emergency vehicle, police car, ambulance is pulled over stopped, with flashing lights visible then isn’t it law that traffic must slow down??
Has it been reported that traffic had slowed down because I expect that the cars were in the emergency lane for some time as one police car came later in support because the Porsche was being impounded?
I would suggest that most people would slow down anyway just to check what was going on.
It’s the law in South Australia to give way to emergency vehicles, and to slow down when you’re passing them. … If you’re passing a place where an emergency service vehicle has stopped and is flashing blue or red lights on your side of the road, you must slow down to 25km/h
Law or not, … it happens naturally anyway.
Could be as simple as the Truckie falling asleep, heart attack, … vagued out, … off his dial, … texting, …
If he’s in a Car, they probably all live, although injured. The Trucks are the issue.
It’s like Traffic Law just doesn’t get Newtons Laws.
I swear ch 7 news tonite said porsche driver was not killed as well because he was on the other side of the barrier taking a pi55, mrs and I looked at each other in absolute astonishment, any one else hear this?
I’m pretty sure I read that he suffered some kind of medical episode just before he crashed. Was found slumped over the steering wheel.
Reportedly medical episode after the crash - now under Police guard at the hospital . Likely he would have had internal njuries from the crash.
Ah ok, I must have misread that.
Police Commissioner Ashton has said the Porsche driver can be charged with leaving the scene and not rendering assistance even though he did not cause the accident. Can apparently be a sentence of up to 10 years.
Pretty sure passed as a law down here about christmas time. There were ads on tv.
Applies to police, ambos and firies.
