Four Vic Police killed by a truck on the Eastern Freeway

I am surprised not more anger is being directed at the Truckie.

You know the person who actually killed four police officers with his vehicle.

I guess a current affair doesnt have footage of the truckie to whip up anger in the masses.

Standard MO for truckies on the Craigieburn Bypass and Western Ring Road too…

The truckie doesn’t have a lot of anger yet because no one knows why it happened that way. The filth that is getting pasted is due to his actions during and after the crash.

Sadly people speed excessively all the time. What people don’t do very often is fail to slow down and career into two police cars killing innocent people trying to do their job.

Agreed, and people are angry but at this stage we don’t have much to go on to direct the anger, but there has been plenty of discussion about it in here. The other guy is copping it because of his blatantly shocking actions. It is right that he does too, anger at both is real, one is just more obvious at this time.

I really hope we don’t end up with another Paneet Paneet situation.

A rich hoon who has consistently flouted the law and standards of society and a person living in a low social economic area and whose sole income may be from driving a semi.
As the semi driver has now been identified, the journos will be digging for dirt on him and I would not be surprised if his ethic origin becomes part of the dirt thrown at him , at least on social media.
The hoon has no physical injuries while the semi driver is hospitalised.

Ummm… Have you considered that the semis exist to deliver goods? You’ve just forced a heap of businesses to run a night shift, and put truck drivers on the roads at the highest fatigue risk times? Deliveries being unloaded at night… Imagine a residential house being built - how do you feel about your neighbor getting a load of bricks delivered at 3am?

When the Government tried an hours limited time for semis in regard to the Francis Street Yarraville route, IIRC it had to modify the scheme.

Bath salts for hotshot degenerate.

The day can’t come soon enough when every vehicle has the technology to be able to slow down and brake if sh"t like this happens

In a way a lot of the newer cars already do this but it is not always on. If it was always on then if a car in front of you slows down then so do you. I would not be surprised if it becomes a mandatory safety feature at some point and is always on.

I think I will be mandatory one day just like seatbelts

How long where you in the force for @Heffsgirl?

My brothers brother and sister in law are both in the force. Have been a good 7 or 8 years now. Some of the things they talk about are awful. The amount of colleagues they have with severe PTSD and in some cases have taken thier own lives is awful.

He’s beyond being a cnt - he’s ill.
