Free Agency - who will we pickup

While not a Free Agent apparently Jeff Garlett is keen on moving.

Yep. He would slot in nicely.

He would be a freaking unbelievable get

Off-contract Nat Fyfe open to leaving Dockers

Dubbed the man most likely to be the AFL‘s best midfielder of the next decade, Fremantle star Nat Fyfe is enjoying playing ‘‘under the pump‘‘ this season as he pursues a lucrative new contract, and is open to shifting to another club.

Fyfe, 22, is arguably the most prized off-contract player this season but he and his manager, Jason Dover, of Stride Management, have opted to wait to open contract negotiations.

The Dockers have offered the elite midfielder a lucrative deal but Dover suggested it did not meet expectations. He would not divulge contract details but it‘s clear the Dockers have work to do to retain their reigning best and fairest winner.

‘‘It wasn‘t unreasonable but it wasn‘t where I saw him,‘‘ Dover said of Fremantle's offer on Monday. â€˜â€˜They would like to have done something six or 12 months ago ... right now he is confident of playing well under the pump and with a sense of urgency.

‘‘Every club I bet would like to have Nathan Fyfe on their list. But I haven‘t had discussions with other clubs.‘‘

Dover said he had not debated the Dockers‘ initial offer with the club nor suggested a counter-offer.  Asked if West Australian-born Fyfe was open to shifting interstate, he said: "You never say never.''

Dover said he and Fyfe had technically not put talks on hold, ‘‘because we haven‘t started yet‘‘, and the decision to delay negotiations was not strategic. He said discussions would only begin when Fyfe was ready.

Fyfe could command about $800,000 a season - if not more - in a four- or five-year deal to remain with the Dockers. He a polled a career-high 18 Brownlow Medal votes last season and was named for a second time as an All-Australian.

It‘s understood the Dockers are keen to secure new deals for Fyfe and fellow midfielder David Mundy before turning their attention to Matt de Boer, another off-contract player.

Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich, who played his 300th match at the weekend, is also off-contract this season and is expected to play on next year.

THROW THE BOOK AT HIM!!!

Contracts aside, what could we actually trade to get Fyfe? It would a lot! Like Heppell…or both Hurley and Zaharakis.

Regarding Gartlett, he would be perfect for our team. But again would cost a bit.

I'd be completely shocked if Fyfe switched clubs.

Gary Rohan is one worth chasing.

No.
He'd just be easy to chase, because his body is completely broken and he can't run any more.
There's a difference.

Not true, I know why he had the extended layoff from the bone break, and it's not what people think. He has struggled to get the fitness back because he never really had it, was always a fast player a a junior not know for his endurance. Took him years to build it initially and then lost it with the break.
Hopefully the Merret boys get into him over Christmas.

I think Gaff has put contract talks on hold

WANT BOTH.

can't afford either.

Offer Melksham for anyone

 ok mate.

There's not a single player on our list who I wouldn't trade to get Fyfe. Freo owe us one too after we gave them Gumby. And McPhee. And Kepler.

.....and Barlow

I know he is still learning to deal with tags but he would be a very good get. Not sure what we have to offer though

If Fyfe moves I will account suicide

Ask port how we can snap up the next polec
God that's annoying

In my opinion we already have the next Jared Polec. His name is Elliot Kavanagh. Kav came to the club coming off a serious hamstring injury. He was drafted a year later. Those saying he showed nothing as junior are talking out their ■■■. He made all australian from memory as an under age player. He was being ear marked as top 5 coming into his draft year but was cut down by injury. He was a risk but a risk worth taking at 19. Like Polec at Brisbane he is maligned by fans but I think it's a confidence thing. I remember numerous people at footy bagging David Myers and saying he wouldn't make it.

How did Leroy Jetta go as a youngster?

and Mark Johnson.
Of course, they might argue Lloyd and Lucas made up for it....

OK. he's got a gammie leg, chronic hammies, hasn't ever played much footy, and is completely unfit for a totally unrelated, mysterious reason.
Let's get him. Heppell and our first pick.

Didn't realise that we can pay an additional $1.2m to players outside the cap for marketing services. There are some definite advantages to being rich. No wonder Sydney with their COLA in place until 2017 can recruit their $1m men.
