He’s an old man who’s achieved plenty in his life. Been president for 2 years. Acting like his Putin or Eddie McGuire clinging to power isn’t really true. I reckon he will retire at the end of his term next year no matter what happens.

I wish he’d pull his finger out. Him and Tanner have let way to much slide.

He is a man who cares very very deeply about his reputation. Ordering an external review now will be a repudiation of his tenure, not just as chairman but throughout his whole period on the board

If that’s the case, can someone tell him my respect for him goes up if he gets an external review.

As for past performance he’s been part of a board that’s ticked off every bad decision made by Xavier. There’s no hiding from that and most observant fans know that’s where the issues stem from without needing a review.

We don’t need an external review. We made the finals last year and have been decimated by injury and the leagues hardest draw.

We need a new communications strategy and fans to accept that we are moving forward. Otherwise, go the way of Saady with this delusional overreaction.

After watching that disgrace of a display against Sydney, if you can hand-on-heart say everything is fine and that we’re only in a bit of trouble because of a tough draw and some injuries then I wouldn’t be accusing others of delusion.

I do care that I’ve stumped up cash for a membership for the last 9 years and have not gotten any joy out of it. What kind of ■■■■■■■ lunatic spends $500-600 a year on something that gives them absolutely nothing in return, other than heartache? I’m most likely not renewing my membership, it’s the same ■■■■ on a different day with this club.

Bingo, agree 100%. I know others out there won’t agree, but I didn’t renew my membership this year and I feel vindicated - that money has gone towards other entertainment goodies for myself and my family.

Ah I’m not saying everything is fine. Current on-field performance is inconsistent and generally poor. I’m saying that we as fans need to consider the circumstances. Wilfully ignoring circumstance is what I’m getting at.

It sucks that it has been so long since we’ve done anything good, but we’re doing now what we should have done in 2016 if we didn’t owe it to the saga players to give them a competitive chance when they returned.

We are effectively 5-years behind where we should be and honestly I am fine with it considering it was the right thing to do.

Don’t think an external review is going to positively impact anything. Week to week sure it’s gonna suck but Revisit this in 2024 and I think you’ll have a different opinion.

Anyway I’ll stop because I’m clearly in the minority and am rubbing people the wrong way

Just out of interest somebody was asking Grant Thomas if an external review came about, would he like to be involved. GT said yes though he wouldn’t feed them lip service so unlikely to happen. Person responded and asked GT to give his immediate perspective - can’t say I disagree with any of it, especially the survival bit.

Na I get what your saying. If we do a full rebuild it’s going to suck and look like trash for a few years. Kind of what we are experiencing right now.

There is a need to be patient, but a lot of us don’t trust the people doing the rebuild.
