Hit a 20kg pr with the safety squat bar today
Absolutely hate it but it's a good indicator of where my comp squat is
Next meet is in May - pretty confident of 245-250 though I'm more interested in totalling 600. Which would need a 240 squat, 125 bench and 235 deadlift
I know next to nothing about powerlifting, but is it common for your squat to be higher than your deadlift?
Anyone done much open water swimming? I've signed up for the San Remo Channel Challenge, and would love some tips as I aint much of a swimmer...
i did a couple of sprint triathlons a in 2012, which involves swims 200-500m not really long but i guess things to note are...
- what is the water temperature of the swim? will you need a wet suit?Ā 95% of people who do triathlons in Tasmania wear wetsuits for swim leg.
If you need a wetsuit maybe you should practice training in one or at least know it feels to swim in one versus bathers.
- Its also a bit of a blur racing in open water with other competitors as everyone makes a hell of a splash at the start, try to get some open water for yourself. as its not nice getting kicked and smacked as others are going past you Or slowing down in front of you.

Got it done.
It was great fun actually, I really enjoyed it.
The swim was a bit of a challenge, I got kicked in the head and ribs a few times but as the field split up it got more enjoyable. As we got out into the middle of the channel it was pretty rough and I felt like i was taking on a lot of water, but I gradually made it to the other side. Getting out of the water I must've had a massive smile on my face, because I knew I would be able to smash out the 2km run.

Got finished in about 21mins which I was pretty happy with. There's the Cowes Classic in a few weeks that I am considering entering now.
You must be pretty thin
I'm 5'10" at the same weight and consider myself too small for anything lol
My friend is a dietician for some of our Paralympics athletes so she's going to help me
Gotta keep a diet log for at least a week, and get my vitamins, hormone levels etc tested
Pretty full on!
I'm the same height as you, and major illness took my weight from 90 to 75. I feel absolutely anorexic.
6 foot 4 and 80kgs?
Fkn hell man, MANGIA MANGIA!
I'm 5 10 and a bit, I've almost shed the christmas panettone, ideal weight for me is 82-84. I'm 85 at present, got to 90 in jan. operation swole by christmas 2014 commencing
Sorry, I worded that badly: 600 a day debt, so 1900 calories if I didnāt do any exercise. The Fitbit app takes exercise into account and tells me how many calories remain per day.
Didn't realise this but Justin Crow (the guy that replaced Dean Robinson more or less) did a lot of work "off the books" with Collingwood while he was studying etc
Spoke to Marty Girvan (Weights co-ordinator at the Pies) and he says he's a good guy.
Ā
We also just bought about $50,000 worth of power racks and bumper plates to be installed in the next month or 2 on top of the platforms and power racks they bought in October for the new facility

He was with them for 2-3 years "on the books" wasn't he - before he came to us?
Ā
And played for them a few years before that, so not sure this is quite the juiciest of inside goss?
During the GC game an errant kick went in his direction, to which I screamed "THAT WAS FOR YOU CROWY" and given there weren't many people at the game (12-14 tops) there's a solid chance he heard it.
