I am of course, aware of that. But bro's don't bro out about fibre.
YO FIBRE

And you don't need that much protein in that short a time. You are just wasting half of it.

ps: if you want protein shakes and you don't compete and want good results, the only choice is HP100. Not cheap though. And contains Andruska unfriendly peptides.

I've lost 10kg now and haven't been at this weight since my early 20's. Looking to put on muscle now so joined a gym.

Can anyone here advise on creatine?  Good ? Bad? Take when and how much?

IMHO.

Get the rest of your diet in order first. Then go to that.

I've got a lot of mates who live on maccas/nandoz & ■■■■, then have a protein shake before & after gym and wonder why they're not really getting anywhere. If you don't do a shiteload of weights to stimulate your body to use it, and get all the vitamins to help your body process it, most of that protein's coming straight out the other end.

That’s basically what my nutritionist said ^

I was eating 4000-5000 calories a day but only a small portion of it was food/nutrients that my body could actually use so I wasn’t putting on weight

Your body can also only absorb a certain amount of protein at any one time. So having a protein shake with eggs (as an example) is pointless

Yeah that’s been mentioned here a couple of times over the years but it’s been ignored in favour of PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN

i've been eating a box of sultana bran a day for the past few weeks. absolutely obsessed with it. sh*t like a champion too

no real relevance, just sayin'

well, fibre i spose

A lot of people just don't understand protein shakes. It's about bioavailability, not quantity. You should get enough protein in your diet for 99% of people's needs, but shakes are used because (and this is the main reason whey isolate is the prefered option in most circumstances) the protein is available to your body a lot lot faster than if you had to extract it from your food.

I generally only have protein in my banana/blueberry and oat shake after a massive run.  And I use water not milk.

Or a mini protein bar.

NEVER both though.

I think I read somewhere that any more than 30g consumed in one dose is pointless, don't quote me on it though, I'll check with dank and get back to you.

He calls it 'protein'.

That's what I was told by my nutritionist too
So if you need 300g a day (arbitrary number) the only way to do it "properly" would be to take it in 10 separate hits

yeah i've been concentrating on my diet to lose the fat.

So lots of vege's, medium amounts of lean protein( animal and plant based) , small amounts of 'clean' carbs like sweet potato and brown rice. Hardly any sugar (including fruit), booze or breads/pastas. Been keeping calories down to under 2000 a day and fat started falling off. My plan to start to grow muscle again was to go slightly above the 2000 calories and do weights, but still with good food, not crap.

I get my fibre from bran toppers. Yes I’m talking spoonfuls out of the box, no milk just a glass of water to help get it down.

What other exercise are you doing? the type and amount might affect how much muscle you build

Haven't started to build yet, start next week. Been running and slight resistance training whilst losing the flab.

You really don’t need to do any cardio to lose weight/body fat.

There’s a girl at my gym with an 8 pack who trains with the powerlifters, just diets/eats like a ■■■■

For anyone interested I have some friends opening up a Strength and Conditioning gym in Cheltenham (they have the keys - just sorted out the finer details in the paperwork).

Will be pretty well decked out. 50kg plates, 30kg competition squat bars, monolift etc

Insurance pending I'll be running the morning crew from 6am-8am if anyone wanted to come and see how I roll

If you're looking for something app-based, I've just grabbed Fitstar. It's super professionally made, going to give it a go.

Ranked #1 in the country in my division at the moment.

Not sure how many comps there have been but I am taking that default ranking

DEFAULT DEFAULT DEFAULT!!!

…at what?

Did a beeptest this morning, got to 12.9.

Rather happy with that.
