Neither did I.
Though I guess it’s just a hip over use injury
Flying out for Japan next thursday and competing in the Asian Open next Sunday:)
Crazy division, I think every Asian is my size so I've got the biggest division in the comp lol
So racist but true at the same time lol

7cm?
strong transformation. 75kg - 140kg from 18 to 30 y/old
Don't hate me, but I prefer the before.
- megz
Is the Aladdin costume the ONLY "before" photo he had??
farkmate thats ****. Hope its not serious.
Protip 2 - don't do seven reps of deadlifts!!!!
haha, yeah, i do sets of 8 reps generally speaking, may need a re-think, not that i'll be doing DL any time soon, although i was making real swift progress on legs lately which is pretty shattering. i've been incorporating romanian DL a bit lately after doing solely SLDL prior, it doesn't feel like as natural a movement and obviously puts more strain on the back and knees which is why form is obviously critical. back to square one it is
looks like i've slipped a disc onto my sciatica and put my hip out in the process, still don't have a great deal of feeling in my right leg which is kinda scary.
any tips on dealing with the intermediate lower back pain would be much appreciated from those who have experienced slipped discs, or what the rehab may entail. endone aka cement was my best friend whilst the pain was at its worst, can get by with paracetamol for the time being and a prescribed anti inflammatory
Rest. Get rid of any and all inflammation first - sensation in your leg will come back once the swelling around the nerves go down. When I get sciatica I lie flat with my legs elevated on 2 pillows, that deals with the worst of it
Then make sure you see a good Osteo, preferably one with sports knowledge, so they can work on getting mobiity and strength back
cheers mate
The last 3-4 weeks of my comp prep entail deloading bar from 1-2 exercises on certain days
It’s surprisingly hard a boring, except I have an excuse to train calves and quads lol
To make everyone feel like a girl, we had a 60kg woman squat 150kg in training today lol
Yikes!
Lol first time I’ve ever had to cut weight for anything, and managed to gain weight from 4 days out and come in over a kilo over
Depends on what is wrong with it exactly
General rules though - do twice as many pulling reps than pushing. push ups/dips are typically nicer than DB benching, which in turn is nicer than BB benching. Rear Delt work is your best friend. Be very conscientious about maintaining full range of motion through the joint
Anyway, hit a 230kg squat and 227.5kg deadlift at my meet but missed all 3 of my 100kg bench attempts lol. I locked out my third bench but the bar dipped on the way up
nice work. no offence, cause i know youre genuinely into this ■■■■, but i still find it hard to believe that you could lift over 200kg dead lift cant bench 100kg.
i can only deadlift about 140 before i feel like im gonna snap in half, but i can bench 110.
im just talking all round strength and conditioning, i just wouldve thought bench would come along with the rest of the lifts, and from what i read here you take training very seriously.
Long story short - injuries and leverages
There’s a guy in Melbourne that weighs 74kg and is an IPF (drug tested) world record holder with a 271kg deadlift. Only benches about 110kg so I’m not alone!
Tbh outside of actual barbell athletes (powerlifters, weight lifters, crossfitters, strongmen and bodybuilders) most guys I see miss deadlifts just ■■■■■ out when it gets hard and could probably lift an extra 20-30% (not saying this is you but I see it frequently whenever I’m in a commercial gym, or new guys that come into my PL gym)
Sad thing is my bench has actually improved a lot in the last few months lol
Do you know what you actually did to it? Or at least whether muscle/bone/connective tissue?I am sure this has been covered before but I thought I would put it out there. I have just signed back up after over 6 months off. I have had to have ultrasound/ cortisone injections in my shoulder because I hurt it lifting. I don't want to end up in surgery as I rely on my shoulders for work at times. Just wondering if any of you who have had shoulder problems have been able to put something together or have any advice.
Bursitis. I did it over-training and most likely from using poor form and not giving it enough rest.
think youd be able to clean that out with a shoulder arthroscopy. if you need a good surgeon, there are some on here that are in the know  (or can ask around for you)

Thanks. Surgery will be my last resort. Hopefully the long lay-off and jabs have done their job. I would be interested to hear if anyone has had a similar issue and come back and how it has been since.
there's an extremely highly reccomended physio in st. kilda by the name of barry murray, who is a powerlifter himself by trade, that i'm going to see next week. think he has a 300kg+ squat to his name. had some great reviews from those with pretty ordinary injuries who he has helped avoid surgery and get back into lifting safely.
