Hypothetical only trade discussions and ruminations

Nobody wants LAV. Nobody. My prediction is that he will stay because there wont be a single team that genuinely shows interest.

on the Bigfooty forum, there are suns fans interested in getting LAV

Multiple clubs were after him before he re-signed last time. Suns and St Kilda I think.

And he’s got more exposed form than then which was … injured for most of year and then the Port game with good 1st quarter.

Being linked to Brandon Ellis is really surprising and makes me nervous this could happen. A soft outside/back flank type scared of any body contact is not what we need.

Can only assume a Rutten connection would have us keen.

That sounds like Houli…how good has he been at the tigers.

One thing is he would have intel from richmond on their structures - and be able to lead players on field on how they need to be implemented if we go down the Tigers coaching method/route.

Given the reduction of the runner, onfield leaders more important, and gives experienced teams a leg up IMO

Houli is a level if not two above Ellis.

Ellis ive seen multiple times hear the footsteps coming and duck the head, I think Bachar whilst also not the hardest player going round, at least will put his head over it.

If the opposition pay Ellis no respect he will hurt you with disposal, but thats also in the best side going round.

Im in the against getting Ellis camp…

But with Rutten and Caracella coming on board, having someone from the tigers on field might help us fast track our transition to a better team and structures, even though he isnt a world beater.

Might be even more important if we lose Rutten to the Crows

I think someone has a KPI to bring in an experienced player via FA every year.

Discussion with MJ at work who’s too soft to get a BB account:

Joe and a 2nd rounder to Sydney
picks 4 and 8 to GWS
J Cameron to EFC

With trades like that MJ would fit in at BB just nice.

Send this to EFC and a picture with all your jackets on. You’ll have a job in no time

Scott Selwood on a 1 year deal for a late pick?

Hard as nails but durability issues?

Flame away.

Worked with Clinton a little bit around 2011-ish.
Good guy, liked a punt.
Always used to stir him up about tagging Joey Misiti down to a 35 possie game (actually 29) in a Final.

My younger brother is good mates with him.

He sure does like a punt - as do most of his mates, incl my brother.

5 club mega trade

Joey Swans
Kelly Eagles
Gaff Dons
Jones Saints
Stevens, 5 Cats

Flame away…

Dont really want gaff that much…we need forwards.

Just forget about really elaborate multi-club trades. They almost never happen. 3 clubs tops.

Expect
Phillips for 83
Daniher + 32 for 5+ 9
Fantasia for Howard and a 2nd rounder/SPP

That’s it.

How do we get Daniel Gorringe

With Grundy wanting a 7 year deal from Collingwood that means he’s more than willing to stay in Melbourne and not in a real hurry to get back to SA right…
Why wouldn’t we at least ask the question.

If Joe did leave and we got 2 first rounders for him why not dangle a good pick package to Collingwood, and a 7 year deal to Grundy.
Pick 5 & 9 is more than what they will get next year. I’d even throw in our pick 31 or 37 if need be.

Yes we’re still without a forward but eh, every team has a gap to fill.
We’d have the best ruck in the comp.

If Fantasia left we’d at least get Howard and a 2nd rounder I reckon.
Pass the 2nd rounder to Geelong for constable or to Collingwood for Sier.

We’d still have our 2020 first rounder which would get Martin from GCS. It’s more than what Carlton can/will offer.
Would step into Raz’s role IMO.

Send pick 49 to crows for Jenkins (the guy kicks goals and would buy us time to develop a young forward)

Out
Joe
Orazio

In
Grundy
Howard
Sier
Martin
Jenkins

Covers our losses and then some.

Hit the draft with
31
37
62
67
85

I believe clubs get another cap boost next year… couple percent.
If salary cap is an issue then move players like Laverde on in a fire sale.
The new draftee’s contracts would be smaller than our delisted and retired player payments & that would help.
Delist a player or 2 then rookie list them.

And for the record, I don’t wear jackets… I drink.
