Injury Updates

Yes but he hasn’t been able to do body work in match type conditions.
He has not been banging bodies with Draper, Bryan, Wright, Caddy.
So his preseason is compromised.

Amazing how an external review mentions our strength and conditioning of players need to be improved upon and our club makes very little changes to this department. Then people keep wondering why the recurrences keep happening. Yes players can be made of tissue paper but it’s still frustrating nonetheless.

Except there is a high injury count across the competition this preseason.

Read this and then continue to complain about our injuries.

Reckon we would be in the top 4-5 worst hit?

Yeah we don’t have a bad injury list really - can be better but yeah its not that bad

Pretty sure they have. Not every review and subsequent changes mean someone gets sacked. Most of the time it’s improving systems and providing the right amount of resources in terms of equipment and staff.

From what has been said it is pretty apprent that our S&C team and medical people have been opperating with one hand tied behind their back for years.

Give it time.

Probably doesn’t help that the players don’t help themselves.
It’s pretty damming when they say things like Kako is more professional then a lot of our senior guys

Oh no, Harley Reid is injured.

Obviously born to be a bomber.

From the HS article on Hammy injuries this year…

Essendon thought it was doing everything right to push Guelfi past a hamstring setback suffered in the final training session before Christmas.

The 27-year-old had been to the United States during the off-season to get on top of his soft tissue woes and was working through a specific program that saw him running long laps around the entire precinct of the Hangar – up and down hills – to build strength.

But his hamstring snapped and he was sent for surgery.

“You run, you kick, you bend over to pick the ball up, you accelerate and decelerate and just the amount of running you do … it’s the perfect recipe for hamstring strains,” Dr Duhig said.

“I think we are pushing harder and harder and trying to get them stronger and fitter and maybe we have gone too far.”

It really is one of the most physically demanding sports.

And if you have or develop a weakness there it’s almost impossible to overcome and reach the level required nowadays

Yep, been saying this for a long time. Clarkson’s full press started this. Players are all having to run up and down the ground at full pace to attack and defend. The solution has been to interchange more, but that just means that when players are on the field, they are pushing harder and are more likely to get injured.

We really can’t complain about the injuries at all compared to a lot of other clubs. There’s been absolute carnage so far.

3 critical players all missed a chunk of pre season i say we have been hit pretty hard

This is part of the problem. Players being pushed too far beyond what they’re capable of. Needs to be scaled back but wont

And the rest.

Say what you want about Guefli he too is another piece of the puzzle that’s in our best side
