This thread is to get excited about Hird’s return. Take that Bomba and ASADA stuff back to the other threads please, I was enjoying the Hird love in here!

Fair call mrjez. Back to you mrhird.
Fairly confident that Bomber would tell Carlton to shove their offer up their farking clacker. HATES THEM. Instead of bleeding navy blue, Bomber poo's navy blue.
Yep. Hates them so much that he was pumping the air when Menzel missed a sitter in the last quarter and we were how far up?

10 years on,and I still get goosebumps from watching this clip. Also teared up, not because of how awesome and enjoyable the goal was, but also how much I miss Hirdy. Absolute champion of a man. LIke this thread title suggests, can't wait for him to return!
If he was playing this week you would have your house on him being bog
James Hird, the last man standing. Not a word said in his own defence.
In his silence he has maintained dignity, in time he will succeed against all the odds.
Must be a hell of a thing to be viewed as a corrupt agent after such a career. He's coming back despite that to get Essendon back on top. The selfish thing to do would be to run but the press would have it that he's arrogant. Anyone would throw the towel in after that wouldn't they? Not Hird. He has beaten so many things in his playing career. Now he's going to beat something different. To beat a very public character asassination by brushing it off and helping the club in a major role. No doubt about it, the guy is made of stuff most of us couldn't begin to imagine. Absolute champion.
Would love to see Hirdy walk into his first press conference donning a skin head and a **** you AFL tatt on the side of the neck.

You know what they say: if you're going to take a shot at the king, you better kill him.
Will take the mighty Bombers to a premiership in 2015 2016 and 2017 and then retire on top.
Will go down as the greatest most published man in the history of AFL.
Ok big ask…: but he is A TRUE LEGEND of the game already.

You do realise it is a story about a successful man?
Just reviving this thread (if I can). The symbol for homecomings is a yellow ribbon, and this could be the theme for the final round. It's low cost and very practical. Blitz members could hand out lengths of yellow ribbon at various points around the G before the game. Similar to the StandByHird campaign except nobody has to drive down from Queensland. We could tie them around the trees in Yarra Park as well. Fans could use them as headbands, ribbons, etc. We'd look a bit "Richmond" but the point would be well made.
I'm happy to be shot down on this if people find it a bit naff, but I want to keep the conversation going.

I wonder how much it would cost to produce 50,000 sets of giant ears?

The fact that you are still a member here would tend to indicate you didn't go quite that far.
We should welcome him back with the best tans that money can buy.

45,000 cheap fake tan orange people with over sized plastic ears?
We could all wear long sleeves and lick our hands a lot.
