Get Hird back, get Sheedy back. Hird as senior coach, Sheedy as his advisor/assistant, and Solomon as Assistant coach. Sheeds bleeds Essendon. I’m sure if the Board put a proposal to him, he would gladly accept it. The bond between Hird and Sheerdy is water tight. I’m also sure Hird would welcome his contribution. The only thing that might trouble is his age now.

I was talking to my pies mate the other day and we were talking about Scott and his replacement and he literally didn’t believe me when I told him I think it’s about 70.30 Essendon fans want Hird back. He said he thought 10 to 20% at most. He couldn’t believe the club would be that dumb to select a coach that has no other real experience on his resume for the past 10 years and that Essendon would be seen as a laughing stock. My response was ‘we already are, does it really matter at this point’?
