With all of Daniher, Merrett, Hepp, presumably Smith on limited minutes and Raz/Package both in doubt and Hooksy confirmed out, I can’t see it being a flogging. I don’t even care that it’s JLT. I don’t care what it takes. We better not lose to those FC ■■■■■■

If he was on our list we’d regard him as our best player. We classify at least 4 or 5 of our own as elite. End of discussion.

FCFC always use the Essendon rivalry to try to motivate them. Playing last 5 minutes of the 1999 PF, reigns supreme as their inspiration. Maybe even Round 8 2018 might be used?
Would they bother to do that for a practice match? Really ?
You can pay $175 through EFC as an Intl Digital Membership. Watch any games you like anytime for the whole season, plus get a member’s pack. It’s not cheap but is better than what it seems the AFL website has.

Squad should be announced today, if they are required to announce it ?
Question is, will this be a serious hitout with our big guns, or treated as a chance to look at players on the fringe like the Clarkes, recruits,etc with JLT2 the serious full strength hitout ?
I still refuse to use the word “elite”, especially basing it on statistics. “Awesome”, “brilliant”, “grouse”, “really good” - these do just fine.

You don’t think Carlton Football club and their supporters are sick of hearing the media and supporter hype around Essendon?
Or the fact that they missed out on their gun recruit because he was excited by our current list?
I know in 2009 Carlton’s hype was unbearable, In that preseason. We pencilled that game in for Round 3 and we knocked them off by 3 points.
Granted this is a preseason game, but they will have something to prove. And EFC vs the Scum are grudge matches, regardless of when they are played.
