I feel one of our major problems right now is that we have a large portion of the Best 25 out of form, or way below their best footy.
2/3rds of the backline are way down.
Perkins is down.
2mp, Langford, Gresh are down on confidence.
Feels like Merrett, Durham & Caldwell with cameos from Stringer are papering over the cracks.
Cracks that cannot be filled against good sides.

Reid still has time, as frustrating as it is how much development he has missed.
there’s plenty we could trade.
if clubs can move treloar, grundy, burton, clarke, jordan dawson, charlie cameron, lachie neale etc etc then nobody on our list is untouchable and nor should they be.
it’s typical essendon hubris to think that our players are completely off limits.

That’s three examples of players who demanded trades. They weren’t forced out.
I agree Essendon can be far more aggressive in its list management approach, though.

yep i get that, but there are countless examples of teams trading good players.
I don’t get why essendon is somehow immune to looking at trading out decent players if it means we improve the list overall.
personally i think it’s a hangover of dodoro’s list management style.
Yeah agree, it always happens in June as well. Not robust enough to get through the winter months.
Daniher demanded a trade out and we held him against his wishes and look how that turned out. Should’ve traded him on the spot
