A coping mechanism for a ■■■■ childhood (from whatever brand of neglect it may be). Unfortunately it’s close to untreatable because there’s nothing behind the facade. Facade is all there is left of such a person and they love the way they are.
He can’t get out of transactional mode. He acted as though he held all the cards with PR and they had to negotiate with him to secure assistance, when it was his duty as President to come to the assistance of US citizens in the face of disaster not of their making. But then unlike the Las Vegas victims and mainland States affected by hurricanes, the PR victims don’t have a Federal vote.
If this Puerto Rico situation turns into s much of a humanitarian catastrophe as I think it may, there’ll be a hell of a lot of Puerto Ricans pushing to change this fact. There’s more people in PR than in several mainland states AFAIK (Iowa?), and if a bunch of them starve or die or cholera or dysentery as a result of a botched disaster recovery, there’ll be a lot of agitation for change.
Which will never happen because the repubs would rather chew off their own feet than allow a hispanic territory to achieve statehood and therefore have senators/congressmen/electoral college votes.
Like one of his best friends Bill Clinton.

The Weinstein stuff has nothing to do with politics. Guys a scumbag. He hung out with Clinton. He hung out with Trump. He hung out with a lot of politicians and high profile people. Unless there is a credible accusation that one of those people knew about and/or covered up his crimes (and there isn’t), then everyone needs to STFU.
I don’t have any time for Trump or Clinton but at this stage I won’t be using this scandal to pot either of them, or anyone else.
