MLB 2019

Welcome to the Big Apple Edwin

Red Sox Lose in the 17th v Twins

Reds sweep the Astros in Cincy, Yanks sweep the Rays and A’s sweep the O’s.

Braves beat the Mets 7-2. Homers to Freeman and Donaldson, 2-run double by Markakis pinch-hitting.

Nats won a double-header against the Phils putting the Braves 4 games up.

Trout hit 2 homers including his sixth grand slam in a 7-RBI night. They sweep the Jays in Toronto.

Astros are having a dry trot. Got swept by the Reds (who are hot) and losing 10-4 to the Yanks in the Bronx. Top of the 8th.

Nats should sweep the Phils (who are cold as).

Braves go into DC for the weekend. Nats have been very good the last week or two.

They keep saying MadBum is playing his last game in Dodger Stadium in a Giants uniform, and the Dodgers are trying to send him off in style, scoring 5 in the 4th to lead 6-0. If he’s traded, it should be based on his 2019 form, not on how good he was in 2014.

m stros have lost 6 in a row
longest streak since the dark ears lol

There’s a few teams really struggling.

Keuchel had his first game yesterday
got given a 3-run lead thanks to Riley 2-run HR, but it eroded quickly and lost 4-3.

Foltynewicz continued his terrible form giving up 8 runs in 4 plus and trailing 8-4. 3-run double by Freeman tied it and a late 3-run homer by Swanson made it 13-9. Minter gets the W despite giving up a leadoff 4-pitch walk and another.

@DonMania will ecstatic with OF Alex Dickerson who debuted for the Giants with 3 hits yesterday, including a slam, and 2 doubles today. And Mike, grandson of legendary RedSox Carl Yaztremski, homered today.

8 straight for the Yankees and a chance to sweep the Astros in a 4 game series

Just finished the Angels Cardinals series at Busch. Albert Pujols was returning to St Louis to play for the first time in 8 years and the reception was spectacular. They genuinely treated him as a returning god, and it’s said that after he homered yesterday, he went into the rooms and had a quiet cry. Had the curtain calls and everything. Angels led 6-0 into the 9th and had 2 outs before it unfolded and they gave up 4 runs - one on a squibber that the pitcher should have fielded, one where the ball came out of the outfielder’s glove as he hit the ground.

Verlander halted the Astros’ streak and the Yankees’ run with a 9-4 win.
Braves beat the Nats 4-3 in extras after a Camargo pinch-hit 2-run homer to go with Donaldson and Acuña homers. Soroka hit after being hit on the forearm by a pitch.
Phils lose again.

Dodgers won for the 3rd day in a row from a walkoff homer by a rookie.

Dickerson got another 2 hits in his second game. Interesting to see how he goes being 29 and all.

The next month will finally see the dismantling of the dynasty. 2 years too late.

I was a little surprised to see MadBum isn’t 30 yet.

I assume you mean some of Buster, the two Brandons (particularly Belt) and Panik (who’s surely too young).

Not sure what the market for Belt would be. Most big clubs have a good 1B. And Buster’s body must be hurting by now. Maybe a DH role or a platoon like the Braves have with BMac and Flowers.

When I saw Dickerson was a rookie, I thought he had a well-lived-in scone, so 29 didnsurprise.

I think both Buster and Crawford have full no-trade clauses so they will stay. EVERYONE else is up. Belt is an intriguing one though all anyone really cares about is Bum. The problem with Belt (and Melancon, and Longoria, and Samardzija) are the ■■■■■■ big contracts they have

MadBum is on $12M a year and in the last year of his contract so would be a 3-4 month rental.

Red Sox V Yankees in London. Wish we got another series down here.

Imagine Marvel stadium. Went to Sydney
wouldn’t fill the G

Yankees become the only to team in history to homer in 28 consecutive games. Judge with his first since returning but lost Stanton with what looks like a knee injury

Braves at Wrigley. One game each so far.
Teheran against Lester is a game I seriously don’t expect to win, and wasn’t surprised with an 8-3 loss.

Contreras homered early and started a bench-clearing push-and-shove. Apparently Tyler Flowers had framed a pitch, Contreras didn’t like it, and when he homered, stayed behind to give Flowers a piece of his mind. That’ll do it every time. Seems like massive hypocrisy to me, because that’s taught in Catching 102, if not 101. With a pitcher like Lester who paints the corners, it’s essential. Markakis (2 RBI) and a Swanson homer provided Atlanta’s runs.

Today, the Cubs had a pitcher I’d never heard of, and Acuña greeted him, nearly hitting it out of the stadium on the first pitch. Contreras doubled in 2 to give Chicago the lead but Albies restored it with a 2-run shot. Fried gets the win and a bit of form back. Darvish v Keuchel in the rubber game.

Phillies have won 2 in a row. Rastros won today. Rays sliding. May have made that call about the AL East race being over a tad early (deliberately). RedSox have won two on the trot against their fellow Soxes.

Rookie pitcher for cubs today in for the injured Hendricks

Yanks win 8-7, extending their home run streak to 29.
RedSox bullpen blows it again to lose 8-7
Astros smashed by the Pirates 14-2

Keuchel against Darvish at Wrigley
Braves jumped out 5-0 before the rain came in the 4th
homers by McCann and Markakis, before the Cubs came back with 3 solo runs
homers by Bryant and Contreras (who also tripled and scored for the other run)

Mets lost 5-4 to the Phils in the 10th after giving up a multiple-run lead for the 4th game in a row.

Baltimore have given up at least 5 homers 10 times this season
an MLB record
for an entire season
and we’re one game short of the halfway point.

Astros still 1 pitcher short
they rolled valdez out to zero success now a few times
got to the point where tyler white and stassi ended up pitching was over after 6

at least springer altuve are back

Astros lose 10-0 at home.
Cubs beat Braves 9-7 after trailing 6-1. What often happens with a young pitcher, Bryse Wilson, although Tomlin took the L. Freeman and Albies homered for Atlanta, Schwarber and Caratini for Chicago.

First game of the last series before the All Star Game.

Braves at Mets
Soroka beat de Grom 6-2 with a 2-run homer from Riley and a 3-run double from Camargo. Alonso hit his 28th, already a Mets rookie record.

Phils lose 6-2 in Miami.

Yanks v Red Sox in London. 4 6-run innings in the game for the Yanks to prevail 17-13.

The hapless Orioles beat the Tribe 13-0 for the second day in a row.

Braves came from behind to beat the Mets 5-4 at Flushing with homers from Markakis and Riley in the 8th.

Second London game
Bogaerts and Martinez go back to back bottom first.

Red Sox lead 3-0

Vazquez adds another 4-0

The commentators talking about how you can keep the ball, unlike cricket. No observation on why.
