Name your top 5 for delisting / trading and reason why

Lets do it the other way round - The 5 to keep are Saad, Ridley, Draper, Parish, Tippa.

Would consider trading anyone else depending on what was offered!

BZT was really good today. He is the future. He was the 2nd best Essendon player for distance covered and kept Weideman to zero goals…actually zero shots for goal.

Yeah a keeps thread is much better

McKenna is gone and if Saad goes too, I can’t see Gleeson being delisted.

I have a feeling that Pittard or Marley Williams could be incoming as a stop-gap. Lol.

you forgot mcgrath, he is priceless.

Langford?

Yes keep Langford. He’s really come on. I really couldn’t think of the names of all those I think we should keep.

My list of candidates:

Begley
Townsend
Mutch
Hibberd
Gown
Cutler
Hooker (Retire)

On top of:

Bellchambers
McKenna
McKernan

That’s 10 in total and it could be 13 if Daniher, Fantasia and Saad leave. That is a lot to get rid of in one pre-season.

Given this reason, the extremely lucky players are:

Gleeson
Guelfi
Clarke

Begley - has had enough chances to show if he is up to it.

Mutch - not AFL standard.

Cutler - soft. Seagulls have more impact on matches than this bloke.

Hibberd - not up to AFL standard

Francis - would be a star in 1980s. Not today“s game.

Gleeson - gone backwards since his injury.

Fantasia - hasn’t played a good game for 3 years. Don’t think that will change.

Zaka - liability for 3 years.

Hooker and Hurley I’m undecided.

Bellchambers (Retired)
Daniher (80% sure hes leaving)
Gleeson
Francis (Trade)
Cutler (Delist - pay him out)
Zaharakis (Delist - pay him out)
Fantasia (Trade)
Begley
Mutch
Townsend (Fell away badly)
Gown (Delist if we have no confidence in giving him games when hes fit)
Clarke (Delist - Tough call, but his progression is too slow)
McKernan (Delisted)
McKenna (Retired)
Hibberd (Delist - Tough call because i still like him, but we use him the same way norf did as a half back flanker, and hes not suited to that role)

Cahill…I’m struggling to find the words…:face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Very, very thin ice:

Kinda surprised that Zakas getting mentioned so much in here. Sure he has his limitations but I thought prior to injury he was having a good year.

yep, he goes around again. started off terribly imo, but he found form

He had hit a bit of form after a couple of stinkers.

But looking at these lists, we aren’t going to have too many players left.

As I have said, struggles to put 2 words together.

Dodorro
Campbell
Sheedy (yep time to move on from this plum job)
A few coaches responsible for the execution of the abysmal game
And then you go through the players!!!

I think for a lot of people he epitomises the culture issues at the club.

Picks and chooses when he puts his head over the ball and seems content to play out his career without achieving anything.
