NBA 2018/19 Ben Simmons is ROTY. MEGA THREAD!

Agree but I could see this coming a million miles away so didn’t bother getting tickets. You see it all the time with soccer friendlies where they promise all these stars and their b grade rock up.

something doesnt add up there, i think lemanis poo poo’d him playing in the exabhition games

they brought in Jason Cadee to replace him. LOLWUT?

we have guys who are on E10 NBA contracts that arent in the squad, and dudes on D1 Collage teams

Issac Humphries, William McDowell-White are both keen to play for Australia and on training camp rosters for Orlando and Houston, Josh Green is now fit and will be a lotery pick in the next draft.

And we go with Jason Cadee?

this smacks of BA and Lemanis NBL weighted bias.

I would be far more ■■■■■■ off if AD or LeBron played in an exhibition game and injured themselves and missed part of the season far more than I am with them pulling out of the games all together.

But that is just me.

I agree on the sentiment and agree that if promoters are going to spruik the games and say “see XYZ play” then they need to hold them accountable to play as it is false advertising but as @Aceman said you could see it a mile away as it happens in Soccer too.

How many elite AFL pulled out of AFLX last this year?

there is always a get out clause for the promoter written into onto the ticket…

How much were tickets to AFL X?

Well Bens in Melbourne. I just saw him At a party I was at.

Ben Simmons needs to get back to Box Hill and get some common sense smacked into him

Coming across recently as a bit of a ■■■■

Just saying, I worked crowd at the casino for 3 years back in the early 00’s (things may have changed) but we never carded celebs, and we let footy players in dressed like derros

I have no issues with someone from a group that is regularly treated differently to another group being sensitive to profiling. The indigenous people in our country didn’t have equal rights under law until 1967 and in many communities are still banned from doing things that whites are allowed to.

To trivialise that stuff as sour grapes seems unreasonable.

Did you know Bob Heath? He was working security at the casino in the mid 90’s. He was a former Mildura Maverick and was a bit on the large side. Was known as “Hamburger Bob” was a cult hero to me.

Pulling the dress code card for Crown is taking the pi$$.

It’s quite common to see people wearing socks and sandles in there.

The patronising media on this is BS. Old white guy after old white guy stating that Crown is beyond reproach. FFS.

In about 1999, the Socceroos were supposed to play Brazil at the MCG and the advertising campaign was centred around Harry Kewell.
Turns out Brazil was scheduled to play Spain (I think) at the same time and they were actually sending their Olympic team (which included a young Ronaldinho). Harry Kewell also pulled out.
The promoters refunded the money for tickets sold and opened the gates for free entry. There were about 50,000 people there (me included).
Sounds pretty similar to me.

I forgot I went to that game. I think Viduka either scored a double or set them up. I only went because it was a freebie.

Like what? Community imposed bans on alcohol.

Not necessarily community imposed.

Remember Howard’s crocodile tears while implementing the “Northern Territory Intervention”?

You’ve got your head in the sand if you think that the average indigenous person doesn’t face into a vastly different Australia than the average white person. No doubt there are issues on both sides of the fence but in the outer parts of the country there are still rules based on color whether they are written or unwritten.
