I’m glad the State Government put money in to it. There is a reason we are the sports capital of Australia and potentially the world.
People are so short sighted. The events industry creates jobs, venues, accommodation, infrastructure which has basically turned Melbourne from a ■■■■ hole to the event capital.

Promoter makes bank from people wanting to see an event.
People pay money but can’t see event. People never likely to see the event based on seating config laid out by promoter.
That’s pretty clear-cut fraud.

Sounds like a class action is a possibility
Not really fair to say I’m being short sighted, when you actually need a periscope to see anything!
It’s been a multi-million dollar shambles. Has lost a lot of people a lot of money and made the game look stupid.
This event may offset our pedophile priests

Ive been to many basketball games (3 trips to the US for 6 NBA games), games at rod laver and hisense (nbl/boomers/Team USA 2000, and1).
Never had any issues with sightlines.
This was my ‘view’ of the game
That’s ■■■■■■■ ridiculous.

I pay $30-$40 to watch NBA games regularly and the seats are always good (especially when you grew up watching footy/cricket from the top of the southern stand). $1500 for a seat at an exhibition game is crazy. I’d be court side here for that amount in some cities.

Mate you can pay as little a $30 and get a better seat to see those guys here. $150 is a premium seat at an NBA game.

When was Melbourne ever a ■■■■ hole? You should get out more and see what some of the ■■■■ holes out there actually look like.

Maybe they should have raised the court? Suspended it from wires and strapped all the players up to a ziplines and harnesses?
They could have called it BasketballX

1980s. Melbourne was nothing.
It’s now a serious player with the most sporting events in the world.

Melbourne is a pretty good city. But there are probably at least 100 cities in the world that consider themselves “the sporting/event capital”.

But you have to pay to get there.
It was supply and demand. They were sold out at pre-sale.

Oh come on, Kooyong was a world class venue holding a world class tournament.
I thought the appropriate time to classify Melbourne as a hole was 1958 when they were filming On the Beach.

100?
There are only two that have Gand Slam Tennis, Formula 1 Grand Prix and Moto GP.
Then on top of that host the AFL Grand Final and have one of the great Horse races.
Events come here all the time like Soccer and MMA because they know we will fill it. We have been known to get a crowd.
