What is it about the "banned" posters?
There seems to be people who are long-time and inoffensive posters who suddenly come up with a "user banned" image replacing their avatar.
Also, they seem to have this despite having a recent post and I can't find anything that they said that may have been offensive (though any such post could have been deleted).
The most recent that has come up like this was Barnz [yesterday]. Is this some random gremlin or are the mods randomly banning Blitzers?
Has anyone else noticed this?
PS Sorry to highlight Barnz if he did do something bannable - I can provide several other examples if you want to cross-reference, Riolio.
I think you'll find that those "long-time and inoffensive posters who suddenly come up with a "user banned" image replacing their avatar" aren't as inoffensive as you think they may be.
It's just that on the new blitz, when they're temporarily banned their avatar changes automatically whereas on the old blitz the only way you knew they'd be banned would be if they announced it themselves.
Following the example you used as Barnz, I just checked his log and could see he has been banned/suspended on at least five occasions previously. The most recent when referring to the guidelines would be the over the top inappropriate language in the PG rated hangar.
Hope that clarifies things a bit for you.
Oh and the mid team receive several reported posts where we take action appropriately and keep/share a log with other mods to keep ourselves accountable for the actions we take.
