Not too bad, although under 18s Coates League is a lot of open play. He’s crafty, good below his knees… and I think he’s measured at 190cm for an underager so he’s a decent size
Heard a whisper today that Tavita Rodan (son of David) 2027 NGA and also a f/s for Port, that his preference is to stay in Melbourne and play for Essendon. Family are very close and want him to stay in Melb.
Apparently the youngest brother is also the most talented.
As I recall it, Rodan and Bewick are the two standouts from that draft class at present. Long way to go of course, but would be nice if the rumour is true.
I think the new rule in effect is that clubs must nominate the NGA’s at age 15, and no later, if they want to have them under the NGA system. Long way to go but you’d kind of think that if Rodan’s mates are all coming through the Cannons…what would the pull be to play interstate for Port. Hopefully by then, he will have Bewick alongside him, along with plenty of other Cannons just before
Read the same. Rodan and Bewick both will be drafted in 2027. Both have impressed draft watchers so far and are being closely watched. The rumours about him nominating Essendon over Port are not new so we can cross everything and hope that we can finally have nice things!!
TBH, if your dad played AFL like Rodan did, you should be excluded from the NGA (not exactly bringing new people into the sport), but I’ll take anything at this point.
genius move. also need to bring our own field umpires to games. @Albert_Thurgood might even say something nice about the adjudicating folk if they play for us.
