GWS had large numbers of great picks at successive drafts during their startup years and they were never going to be able to hold all that elite talent given that after 8 years they are now subject to the same TPP $ number as the 17 other clubs.

Well if the deal does fall through at least will wil still have pick in a very good draft. We can always have another go next year or perhaps target something even better. Whist Shile would have been great, the natural development of our younger players should hold us in good stead for 2019.
The deal won’t and can’t fall through.
Sheil is probably the difference between Essendon being a very good side in 2019 or a side which will make up the numbers and finish 8th to 13th.

If this deal was any risk of falling through Connors would’ve been on every station on each of the AM, FM and DAB frequencies shouting from the rooftops.
