Anybody remember The Games with the brilliant John Clarke? It was hilarious.

This is why we need the Hot Chicks Thread.

Jeez what’s wrong with you, didn’t your parents celebrate Festivus enough with you as a child or something?

pointing out things that are different isn’t as lucrative as it once was

Another one not straight comedy, but I thought was great:

Shameless.

Can’t bring myself to try the US version.

Speaking of something that’d never get made today :rofl::rofl:.

If you watch the early episodes( black and white iirc) they featured full frontal nudity that I never realised. I’m not sure those episodes went to air in Australia.

in a very similar vein is Phoenix Nights. Probably sits in the not well known category.

Very very funny.
Excellent writing and characters.

Plays on an aspect of that ā€œordinary British lifeā€.

definitely worth a watch - just need to get your ear tuned into the accents.

I’ve found Jen Aniston much more attractive as shes aged.

Shes still incredible in the Morning Show/Wars.

The problem with comedy summed up nicely here.

Also loved the Brittas Empire. It says a lot when even my missus, who really doesn’t like comedies, used to watch it religiously. She also swears by Schitt’s Creek.

Utopia is too similar to real life. I enjoy it, but mostly because it’s all relatable.

My overrated candidate has to be Parks and Rec. Nick Offerman’s character is hilarious but trapped in a world with so many unbearable characters.

It’s heavily in the mold of Yes, Minister.

Of they are. Like you said. Studios just won’t make them anymore.

If there is an advertisement for why someone should quit their government or corporate job, that show is it.

Wow! That’s one I’d forgotten. Gordon Brittas was a great character.

I’ll look that up.

Jut googling it, and there are links to ā€œOnly Fools and Horsesā€ along with ā€œMinderā€ which I used to watch with my older bother. Loved Minder a lot.

My wife loves it too. I didn’t share her enthusiasm.
