We had an urgent shipment from Germany. They got it out of the factory Friday, on a plane Saturday and it actually cleared customs into our freight company on Monday arvo.
Was supposed to be delivered to Ringwood today, but local freight company had no drivers !! So two days from Germany to Melbourne and 4 days from Truganina to Ringwood.
I had a contractor send me an laser cut galvanised steel item last November from Penrith (western Sydney) to Moss Vale via Aramex
It went via Wollongong and sat at one of their depots for 2 weeks

I bought something online from a seller who I didnāt know was local, only about 5 km away. (For those unfamiliar with Perth geography, this is indicated by red arrow on the map below)
It took a week for Aus Post to move it a nett 4km (black arrows), and they still couldnāt deliver it. I had to go to some pretty inaccessible place to pick it up. And they donāt even really have covid as an excuse like they blame for crap interstate delivery times.
It would have been quicker to walk there to get it.
Thankfully whatever the ā ā ā ā they managed to do to perforate the box missed the frame entirely.

I always advise people to take any tracking details with a grain of salt. They are easily manipulated and often bogus
Well I know it was mailed on Feb 16. And I definitely know I still have not got it!
But you are right about the bogus - until today the tracking details said it had left their facility March 16 and āis on its way to the destinationā. That has been completely erased and replaced with āleft March 29ā. So, very bogus!

I had a parcel I was sending to QLD (auspost) bounce between Vic and QLD 4 times (thats vic-qld-vic-qld-vic-qld-vic-qld).
Raised a case when I saw it back in vic the first time, they assured me theyād put a stop on it and ājust had to wait till it got out of the sorting machineā.
Wasnāt amused when it made further round trips.
Their excuse āsomeone (them) had stuck a 2nd barcode to it.
Think it ended up being around 5 weeks all up. Other things I posted at the same time were there within 2 days.
Cargo aircraft damage is almost a weekly occurrence but been a while since Iāve seen one snap in half like this DHL 757 in Costa Rica
DHL is great. Heard from someone that worked there over covid. Their bonuses got cut then the next week the company was boasting internally about record profits and revenue.
I worked for them for awhile but didnāt really enjoy my time with them even though pay was ok. Got overlooked for a position abroad and that made my mind up to get out
I met a guy whose job is to balance the loads on cargo planes at the airport. Said it was mainly working out where animals go.
