Parcel delivery can do better. Discuss

Always worth forking out the extra cash to save any hassles.

Anyone getting shipments from the US of late and got timelines on standard delivery? I’d be talking a couple of items, 3-4 tshirts, standard delivery.

Q. Did Amazon prime day bump up parcel delivery times?

Q. Any news on Aussie deliveries switching to electric vans like the UK has?

I’ve had no real issues with next day delivey from Amazon in the last few months.

Well no, i havent either. Prime day is two days and im just wondering how it affects the whole system.

q1 they said prime day would cause delays.

q2 probs not feasible due to distances from depos

Uk vans are last line of delivery. Not interstate trucks (yet).

dandenong to western suburbs, until their ravenhall facility is up and running

And the fact that AP does the bulk of Amazon’s work in Australia. EV’s are in the pipeline for Company workers but contractors supplying their own vehicles make up the bulk of the fleet so they won’t be switching anytime soon

many of the next day deliveries are some person in their car.

One delivery turned up in an Audi!

They do that but volume wise by far the most goes through the APG via air freight interstate.

I’ve has no troubles whatsoever with any deliveries lately. I also possibly have too many deliveries.

I’ve got deliveries lined up till Wednesday including weekend. Then a gap of a week before us and uk stuff turn up.

Was deciding between Aust Post and DHL and went with Aust Post because its just around he corner and I’m lazy.

Should have went DHL as they use their own planes and don’t rely on commercial flights like Aust Post.

I checked Aust Post website for Express International to the UK and they had 7-12 days!

25/06/21 today and it has not even left Australia!

It’s on its way

???
DHL are good for getting it to Australia but they have zero planes to move it around Australia.

Nice work on this Aceman. As a contractor to Aus post i can agree that the infrastructure is a hindrance regarding the increase in volumes. So parcels go up by 30%. Where do you find the trucks and planes to transport the extra parcels? Where do you put the extra parcels? Where do you park the extra vans to load up said parcels? Most of us last mile contractors know our routes well and are familiar with regular customers, we enjoy delivering to them and build a good rapport over years. We like to get the parcels out of our vans and to you on time. I really enjoy most customers… but.
If you have an unrestrained dangerous dog you will receive a card in your mailbox, once bitten, twice shy.

To make it easier on us and ensure you get your delivery please check, and then double check your address, seems autofill has a habit of screwing up address’s. Also put a unit or shop number if there are several residences / businesses sharing the same street address. Or put a business name on it. Whatever is most easily identified by the driver. Also leave a mobile number on there as we will ring and check if all else fails! Cheers

DHL is servicable when delivering within Australia when I have used them in this current climate.

Aust post rang me and said they use exclusively commercial fights to the UK hence the hold up.

Basically, if I had of used DHL it would have been delivered by now.

It’s just annoying as it was original documents for a UK passport so I just can’t resend them.

you see aceman at adelaide airport?

hes the one in the palanquin

Best way you use to find him was checking the airline lounges. :stuck_out_tongue:
