Pick 48

Would be a GREAT result! Kid is a jet I reckon & from good stock, his old man was a terrific local footballer and equally liked & respected through the entire league. I reckon he’ll be gone by 48 but will be hoping for either he or North at that pick. Both would be gold though. Ranges have some great talent coming through although probably best of it will be next year IMO.

Can we just get another big lad that only start taking their fitness seriously about a year before the draft? you know the fat dude that can kick the ball with class.

Don’t you want Miles? He’s about as vanilla as it gets!

I don’t understand so many people wanting inside mids. We’ve already got Langford, Begley, Mutch, Clarke. There is no point adding another 18 year old in the line behind them.

No mids… by our pick the top 30 mids on exposed form will be gone. Don’t want the next best.

Go for a fwd pocket… and hope he becomes another Rockliffe, Fantasia, Gray, or Betts.

I reckon not. No doubt he was good for us - not great though. I just think there are better players that are not under our noses.

I reckon we will still get someone good. They’ll just pick whoever is at the top of their best available list at 48. I reckon the other 2 picks will be rookie upgrades.

The Bombers head into the 2017 National Draft with picks 48, 67, 85 and 103, which means the Dons will have to wait until the third round to make their first selection.

Since the introduction of the National Draft in 1986, the Bombers have shown they can find a late gem.

Here is a look back at some of the talent plucked late in the Draft.

Hmph. The reporter missed a few in there.

An AFL proven clearance machine in a team that finished in the bottom two for clearances last year, with Jobe as our number one clearance winner mind you… Hmmm

Dane Swan over Dean Rioli, he has put on less weight, so easier to get back in shape. But Deano was a great player…

I like the look of North as a bone fide on baller.

Dylan Clarke slid from likely <20 to 63 on draft night after assessment of the look of his kicking. It did improve over the season, but he wasn’t near getting game at AFL level in his first year.

Does the club now want to draft another contested ball winner like Cassidy on the basis that “the coaches can fix his kicking” ?. I would expect Cassidy to still be there at 48.

A developing Key Forward, and a few excitement machines will do the trick.

After all this talk of Dane Swan making a comeback in the red and black, Im expecting the media to write an article about it.

Dane Swan, lIke Jimmy bartel believes he can still play footy - just didnt get along with the coach and was pushed out the door.
If we came a knocking im sure he could get back in shape. But it wont happen, he has too many tatts,

He’s rubbish.

Tune in to VFL and watch him play.

He’s a boat anchor on ball movement.

We need to address the ruck issue.

Let’s face it. Bellchambers and Leuenberger are not getting any younger. McKernan’s place on the list going forward is in doubt. Draper as a rookie can happily develop as he has done so far.

Is there a ruckman we can grab from the current available list of Under 18s…or at State Level?

To have only 2 ruckmen and 2 rookies on the list is a little light on.

There’s been talk that they’re going to upgrade Draper & you’d think McKernan will be delisted.

4 Ruckman on our lists is pretty good imo.

Then you’ve got forward-Ruck options of Daniher and Stewart.

We’re hardly in direstraights with Ruckman imo.

Both Bellchambers and Leuey have at least a couple of years left.

By that time Draper and Lavender will most certainly be ready to go.

The modern game only requires 1 Ruck and somebody that can give him a chop out. We are fine.
