Praccy match v Cats -- some Cat time, some Cat place

That’s part of the story……the really worrying part for me is the number of occasions we attempted to tackle an opponent but couldn’t make it stick! I’ve looked at the official stats provided and I call BS………in the first 3 Qtrs a counted close to 40 “attempted” tackles that Cats players broke clear of to get the ball to a teammate!!

So what! I say that respectfully. Don’t blame Barham, Vozzo and Scott for yours and our 20 years of pain. They’re trying to do the dirty work their predecessors failed to work on.

im keen to find out how the players in the VFL went. Roberts has raised eyebrows with his performances thus far.

Corky I think.

Hope not, hope a corky. The ice was on the side of his thigh. Usually a quad ice is more at front, hammy at the back. I’m guessing though, just using intuition.

I thought our VFL side was something f like 60 points down in the 3rd quarter.

that’s some good counting skills buddy

How many did you count going the other way?

We are less ■■■■ than I feared.

I saw so many tackles where Geelong players were still able to get a hand ball out.

Tackles not strong enough that stick or bring players to the ground. We need to hire an NRL player to teach these guys how to tackle properly give him part time job during the week

My (albeit someone who knows bugger all about how footy actually works) thoughts from being at the ground:

  • I’ll donate my fkn legs if they can graft them on to Ridley if it means he’s all good to go and no more injuries. He is just a sublime footballer. Silky, tough, smart.

  • Todd Goldstein is a wily ol’ fox. There was a contest in the pocket he managed to nullify because he had an attitude of “no, you aren’t pulling the wool over my eyes”. He’s got some elite ruckcraft too. I hope Bryan and Draper like taking notes.

  • Reid still needs to learn some defensive craft, but his endeavour is faultless. I feel like that talk of him being the best of our picks from that draft is going to be correct. He also a very tall boy.

  • Hawkins and McKay stood in the goalsquare in front of me, and it was clear, they are two boys who never skip a gym session. They are monsters. And yes, I know Hawkins has trimmed down as he’s aged. That is a scary thought.

  • Parish is actually the most midfieldy midfielder that we’ve ever drafted. HE REAL GOOD.

dont want to get ppls hopes up but Gia said “tight quad” for Ridley and its sore so he will get a scan but hopefully not too bad. Surely if he tore it they would be pretty sure about it?

I wish. They will wait for the scan. I’m not overly optimistic it’s just tight (not torn).

Gia said they took the blokes off who were a bit off, including Redman and Langford. Hope no issues.

Oh, actually, one more.

GMHBA stadium is ■■■■ for watching football.
If the home side didn’t have some clear advantage playing there, the Geelong supporters would hate it too.

Looked minor to me. Sore or minor strain ….not as bad as last years quad strain

Bit off as in lame/tigtheness.
Do our you sports science people look at the data? They should know the targets for each player and when close to threshold pull them from the game.
