Just finished rewatching the game!
Not sure if its been discussed already, but I was actually really pleased with Kelly (I’ve been a very anti Kelly fan admittedly).
Today was the best offensive game of his I can recall, I know the coaches have been working on the speed of his decision-making and speed of disposal. Well its working.
I can only recall one long pause and the time called for a slow play.
Another note was just how seamlessly the two new recruits slotted in, it may have been a very young and inexperienced Hawks but they looked at home and impacted in the areas we recruited them too

We played the wooden spooners today. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Some of our play in the first was dreadful. Better teams won’t let us come back, and definitely won’t let us press as hard. I still think we could get exposed on the rebound against better and more matured body teams.

easily made the 50m
his touch and tricks and intent were all still intact - just needs to better his fitness. He can do that on the training track and as a sub. Not sure if playing VFL will be better for his fitness than the above two.

That’s what I noticed. I couldn’t believe how much our kicking had improved. Particularly from the half back line. Be interesting to see if it can hold up under more pressure.

Yes, Kelly was one who you could notice running hard without the ball. Sometimes to be the guy who got it. Sometimes to be the wide option drawing one of their zone out to make space for a more inboard option. I haven’t seen running numbers - but would be surprised if he wasn’t up there.
