He essentially said these clubs would need to win 4 games out of 9 to make finals (at 9 wins).

That would mean we need to win 4 games out of 10 to make it.

Can see why he’d have the doubts but the game in hand wasn’t mentioned at all.

Its all coming down to injuries. Everyone has Port as the top side. Well they got done today by a decebt side. And the power were at home with a skinny injury list.

Yes well the game in hand certainly deserved to be mentioned as part of the conversation about where we sit. I dare say we’d probably need 10 wins given our % is gonna be pretty poor given we lack fire-power and are going to have really grind out our wins.
Hey, let’s hope we show real ticker and notch up some morale-boosting wins and then get to welcome back some important additions.

Hopefully. We’ve got a lot of players to come back in to strengthen the side.

  • Shiel this week is big.
  • Stewart/Draper/Cutler gives us a lot of options.
  • BZT handy in for clubs with tall forward lines.
  • Fantasia has a couple of weeks off but realistically, he was going to be one of the players we needed to manage with the compressed fixture.
  • Hooker should be back for GC or Saints at the latest.
  • Stringer pushing but may be okay for the Saints.

Daniher, who knows, but you’d hope he’d be available for the run to finals.

A game in hand doesn’t mean a win in hand.

He clearly thinks we’ll struggle as much against Melbourne as we have against others & likely thinks we’ll lose it, which makes sense unless it’s a long way down the track and we get some players back from injury.
