Russia invades Ukraine - the first ten weeks

It’s terribly sad that an entire nation is going to pushed under the bus. He knows full well that the west won’t do anything of substance about this.

I know, it just would be nice but won’t happen.
It’s not much but hopefully some very powerful sanctions is the best we can hope for.

Not sure it would be nice. If other countries get involved it becomes a world war and no one wins that.

That’s… not good… if true.

I would rather see him destroyed now

Ukraine asks Turkey to close Black Sea waterways to Russia

Ukraine has asked Turkey to close the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits to Russian ships, Ukraine’s ambassador to Ankara said on Thursday, after Russia launched air and ground assaults on its neighbour.

The request puts NATO member Turkey, which shares a maritime border with Ukraine and Russia in the Black Sea and has good relations with both countries, in a difficult position. Under a 1936 pact, Ankara has control over the straits and can limit warship passages during wartime or if threatened.

Why not?

To be fair, Turkey has shown they are quite capable of shooting down Russian warplanes.

Seem the contention is he’s picked off the one place he knew he could and won’t go near any NATO member or close Allie of the west.

This is terrible. Putin threat the West in general today is chilling and the real indication this won’t stop St Ukraine

Belarus invading Ukraine is a small thing compared to Russia doing it, but it cements a very dark diplomatic future.
