Russia invades Ukraine - the first ten weeks

Maybe all the “anti-communists” in the US should volunteer and form a foreign legion to fight on behalf of democracy. Too bad they’ve all become pro-Putin.

Brutal. From one dictator to another.

Some of the footage is from earlier when it was still dark and the light has been changing. Some might be crap but most seem to be right for the time they were taken.

It’s a fair assumption, and not a bad idea

So Vladmir Putin just confirms he has the smallest pen is in the world.

What a pathetic, insecure, disgusting little creature. Him and Bolsanaro are the most deserving of a bullet we’ve seen since Hitler.

Hopefully this is a wake up call to stop letting little unloved boys who didn’t get enough love or attention as teenagers run major countries.

Most seem to be legitimate, but we all know what the first casualty of war is.

“Reports of some civilian casualties as a result of direct hits in residential buildings.” - Not sure where though, the feed i saw doesn’t say

I was hoping this wouldn’t happen so soon. Foolish I know.

For anyone that doesn’t understand what’s going on, Triple J Hack does a great job of explaining Ukraine and Russia situation.

It’s from a few weeks ago.

How many regions of Russian have ethnic minorities that could claim a connection to other nations? I imagine there would be a few in eastern russia

Shortages already hitting close to home

That’s enough handypoint, take it to the delicious freezer section thread.

:joy:. Look a disaster is unfolding.

In more ways than one.

(Apologies for the dark humour)

Boris Johnson says the UK respond decisively following Ukraine invasion

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he has spoken to Ukraine’s President.

He says Vladimir Putin chose “a path of bloodshed”.

“I am appalled by the horrific events in Ukraine and I have spoken to President Zelenskyy to discuss next steps,” Mr Johnson said.

"President Putin has chosen a path of bloodshed and destruction by launching this unprovoked attack on Ukraine.

“The UK and our allies will respond decisively.”

I wonder what their idea of decisively means? Because sanctions have rarely worked.

MORE SANCTIONS!

■■■■ I hope this one is bullshit.

I saw that earlier and wondered if it was correct, but from a different source.

It’s unlikely to be bullshit. Russian and Belarusian miltary have been running joint-drills for a very long time.

Edit: I should add they have been running drills together over the last few weeks.
