The Belarus military have been set up on the border for weeks.
I know, I was holding out some hope that they wouldn’t become directly involved.
Now this:
Economic sanctions need to destroy the Russian oligarchs bank accounts and pit the Russian people vs Putin. Sanctions vs the populace need to be handled super carefully not to give Putin any PR victory internally. The occupation of Ukrainian needs to = economic suicide for the Putin regime = Afghanistan 2.0.

The West have been threatening sanctions for a few weeks now. If I were a corrupt power hungry oligarch, I’d have put my ill gotten gains in some numbered Swiss accounts a while ago.
If your going to do the whole sanctions thing, shouldn’t you just do it and not telegraph your punches?
I can’t help thinking there’s a lot of posturing and not much action.
