Blokes like Neale D, Dimma, Bomber T & M Harvey are more Essendon than you or me will ever be

Why are they more Essendon than us? Because they were better footballers than me?

Ask dimma next time you see him if he thinks he is a Bomber or a tiger. While he is there, he is Richmond and we (most of us) don’t like Richmond.

Richmond are about as ■■■■ as Melbourne, but apparently you had no issues with ND coaching the Dees, even though they have played way more finals & been more of a threat over the last 30 years that Richmond have been. I don’t like Richmond either, but they aren’t in my top 3 - if they are in your top 3, then you need a rethink about FC, Pies & Hawks.

So in your eyes. he’s been an Essendon legend, is currently a Richmond rsole now & when he gets sacked after about Round 20, overnight he becomes an Essendon legend once again? How farking fickle is that?

I worked for PFD once, does that make me a Collingwood carnt? Or should I have stayed gainfully unemployed instead? Get a dose of reality Rosso, you have to make a crust somehow.

And if you think that TD is a FC carnt (he did go there as an Assistant), or Tim Watson a Saint carnt, or Bomber T a Cat carnt, you have NFI. All these blokes are Bomber legends, as is Dimma. They are more Essendon than us so deal with it - they pulled on the jumper.

And for what it’s worth, I’d welcome back Dimma to our club in a coaching role any day or the week - just not head coach, as he’s been found out just like M Harvey.

M Harvey was going alright and if he had more than 23 players to choose from may have made the finals 2011.

Sorry Digs, but Lyon pretty well made that side super competitive with the same players from Day 1, even though it's a playing style that will never win you a GF.

Everyone knows Harvey was harshly done by. Freo at their best with him were super to watch. He just didn’t have a good fitness management regime and some bad luck.

R Lyon was the beneficiary of his predecessor’s efforts. It can be argued that M Harvey did well considering where that club was when he took charge. We’ll never know but I’ll argue that M Harvey would have got that side into a similar position had he been afforded the opportunity.

I agree Digs and what Lyon did with Freo once the injuries were fixed was no different to what Harvs was achieving.

Harvey pulled that side from the rabble they were and made them competitive. 2008-2009 were about rebuilding, 2010 they did well, 2011 they were decimated by injuries. Lyon then came and on they played an attacking brand of football they were used to under Harvey but with Lyons(superior to Harvey’s) defensive brand which made them do well.

Then with the peaking of a few players and the team doing well under Lyons own good brand they did well and now they have done the 360 where Lyon hasn’t rebuilt just made the most out of the good team he inherited just like he did at St Kilda.

If he was that good, why wasn’t he snapped up by another club for the head coaching role? Why isn’t he our head coach now?

He didn’t like watching AFL footy on TV (in fact he would ignore it), which for an interstate coach is my eyes, a big no no, as you can’t expect to see many games live based in Perth.

And he certainly wasn’t a tactical genius that’s for sure & picking up ex Bomber players like Kepler & McPhee doesn’t shout out great list management to me too. Oh & IT, why do you ignore 2008 & 2009 (esp when they were 11th in 2007 & 3rd in 2006) when he had full lists to choose from or 2013 for that matter? Bit selective
