Still not sure what was being said, but both Murphy & Carey have said that whatever it was, it did not involve Carey, & his name wasn’t mentioned.

Apparently, this particular Carey rumour has been out there for a year and a half, and him & Murphy have been in constant communication about it, discussing what to do about it, both knowing full well it was bullshit, & decided to just let it die a natural social media rumour death.
Then the sledging in the game, although not mentioning Carey, gave the trolls the vehicle to re ignite it.

And I have to disagree with those here that said it’s all fair game. You don’t belittle or abuse a blokes family, Wife or Girlfriend, it’s not on.

As some others have said, there’s plenty to sledge Murphy about anyway, without lowering to that garbage.

Yeah I know I am a dinosaur, but it is a footy field, it is not real life.

If Mark Murphy gets all precious because some opponent says something about his Wife, girlfriend, sister, mother, daughter then he should retire now.

Back in the day, we used to say all sorts of things to put guys off their game. Always had a beer and a laugh afterwards.

If any prikk had demeaned, or said anything derogatory about my Missus, father brother son daughter, what the fk ever in that way, … they would have departed on a stretcher, and I’d have been quite happy to sit out for a week or two thereafter.
