I still reckon Pendlebury is the glue that holds Collingwood together. They were Fkg rudderless today, absolute rabble without him and he’s 32. Sidebutt is 30 as well. Imagine the melts in here if we were as reliant on two ageing players?

I’m hopeful given the age of those two and how important they are to their success and the salary cap squeeze this year might mean they leak a decent player or two. They have a bog average forward line and some scanias (noble, Maynard etc) in defence. They’ve loaded their midfield up and they need the disposal of Sidebutt & Pendlebury to cover the butcher tendencies of Treloar and Adams.

Agree. He might have 1 or 2 games a year where his opponent kicks a bit of a bag on him but generally he is a very good small defender who is tough as nails.

Maynard is an absolute beast, who mauls any forward near him. I’d love him in our side. One of the comps best defenders.
But it just goes to show that you take Pendles out and the best team in the comp comes back to the pack.
Most sides are evenish and its the stars that make the difference. Ours are just so rarely fit and on the park.
Amazed they could miss Pendulous berries that much. Eagles just picked off goals like low hanging fruit. I cannot remember any time Collingwood were thrashed like that in the Buckley era.

Is pretty average really. Turns the ball over a lot and finds himself out of position a lot for a defender which is why he gets a few bags kicked on him. He may be playing to instructions but good defensive units don’t expose themselves in the way he does.
