Season 2024 - Sydney

I’d imagine it will be Dean Cox. Him saying no to WC suggested to me he had the Swans job when Longmire left, might be a bit sooner than expected though.

If that was the case, he would have gone after the finals and before trade period.
I think there’s more to it than that.

He’s been involved at the footy club for 22 years and only had a 2 year break between playing career and coaching. Wouldn’t be surprised if at the age of 50+ he, his wife and family just want a break from the weekly grind of footy to enjoy a more typical lifestyle. And when he returned to pre-season, the idea of a long years grind ahead finally hit him.

If he takes a year away from footy, there’ll be plenty of teams lining up job offers for him. Adelaide, Carlton, Freo, Port Adelaide and the Bulldogs would all love to upgrade their coach who has been there for a while.

Stewart Dew could walk straight into Sydney and do well if given the chance, he knows the Sydney way back to front. Helped Cats destroy them.
Has the experience and the failure. And deserves another chance.

Odd timing being after the Trade/draft periods.

Going from Horse to Big Cox?

If Cox is coach now it probably doesn’t matter too much

I wouldn’t mind betting this is much more planned than it seems.

I guess we’ve just found the first Tasmania coach for when they enter the comp.

Swans fans butthurt that Big TOMMY MORRIS broke the story ahead of the players being told. LOL!

Sydney officially cooked. Cox new coach. Ruckmen don’t make good coaches.

With a title like that he’ll definitely be in the running for the First Annual Award for Outstanding Achievement in The Field of Excellence
