Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 2, March 2022)

Probably having brunch with X and the board.

I hope they ordered the terrine.

I think Brasher actually cares about the club but is incapable to change what needs changing. I think Xavier would throw the club under the bus as soon as a better opportunity came up.

That’s a prerequisite for the CEO job.

All the successful clubs of the last few years…… it all started with getting a new CEO and Chairman, and they lead the culture change from the top down.

SEE!!! All you terrible “supporters” who keep telling us that there are issues at the club were WRONG, we just beat the mighty Hawks!!!

Thats just dumb.
We’ve all been beaten down by the poorest period in our history.
Those timelines are not steeped in reality at all.

If Campbell is ■■■■ and Brasher can’t convince the board to fire him they both need to go.

Which is why the review should have been external and not internal. Also, we should be asking the AFL to get someone to perform the review, not the club paying for the review, because we all know whoever pays for the review gets what they want.

Which unfortunate first or second year player are they going to force to face the media today or tomorrow after the debacle that was Saturday night?

We hardly ever get the leaders, onfield or off field, fronting up after a game like that. Hiding in ‘The Hangar’.

Oh @bombercos, where art thou???

Please desist from tempting fate at this time.

I’m pretty sure after that ANZAC game we founded the “Take any good win out if this joke of a ■■■■■■■ club” … Club.

Much to the dismay of @darkknightpheonix

Disagree.
So we haven’t even announced a review yet… so that makes me think they will ‘back’ Rutten in until next year… then X will sign the obligatory 3 year extension and then we will wait 2 years after that until finally we move Rutten on. So that is 4 years.

Then we appoint new coach but still keep Duds.

New coach comes in, is ‘bullish’ about the list. We play OK in their first year and limp into finals… get beaten by 100points but after the last four years of trash under Truck… we feel pretty good about it.

That finals appearance give the new coach another four years to ‘bed the plan down’. So now we are 9 years in but we are back at the “lowest point in history”… thankfully by that time, Duds has finally decided his time has come.

We then get a new recruiter and new coach in. The new recruiter needs at least 7 years to build a list (see Geelong, Richmond, Hawks, Melbourne) that is finals capable.

So best case scenario is 16 years from now… I rounded to 20 because we never do things quickly.

Even the shttest of sht teams win a Final within a 10-15 year period.

As bad as weve been, we still would have won 1, and quite possibly 2 in 2013 if the players werent told that we would be disqualified from Finals.
This likely had a spill over effect in 14&15.

Its not that hard to win a Final.
Sometimes you fall into a 7th spot and have a good day.
It will happen in the next 10 years at some point, but it counts for zero if you cant make Prelims consistently.

There hasn’t been any formal statement from the club ruling out a review (I don’t count Tom Browne). I would say there will be something, hopefully an external one.

Some options for the club this week from the papley debacle. i was going to give luke parker a run too

It was announced before the win wasn’t it? (not that it really matters in the scheme of things).

And thats where it has to come from. The top. Tinkering around the edges isnt going to cut it.
